Max Ehrich is firing back at rumors he shaded Demi Lovato and Jutes. On Wednesday, Dec. 20, the actor was accused of telling his ex-fiancé she’d be “unhappy for the rest of her life” after hearing she had gotten engaged. He even appeared to want to win Lovato back by telling her he’ll love her “forever.” While Lovato’s fans believed Ehrich had shaded the couple due to his history with her, it turns out it was just a rumor. The Southern Gospel star explained the “cruel messages” were actually made by an impersonator.

Max Ehrich, who was briefly engaged to Lovato in 2020, confirmed he didn’t shade the singer and Jutes (whose real name is Jordan Lutes) on social media.
I am aware of the fake pages that were created to post fabricated and cruel messages about a truly joyful occasion in Demi’s life, a moment that should only be celebrated.

In fact, his feelings about Lovato and Jutes’ engagement appear nothing but positive. He told fans he wants nothing but “the best” for the couple. Ehrich even wished Lovato and Jutes a “lifetime of peace and happiness.”
The actor also denied he has any resentment toward his ex-fiancé by telling fans that he and Lovato ended things “peacefully and privately a long time ago.” Since they appear to be on good terms, Ehrich asked everyone to stop including him in “this narrative” involving Lovato and Jutes’ engagement.
Ehrich’s response comes two days after Lovato and Jutes announced their engagement on Instagram. In her post, Lovato wrote that she was “beyond excited” to marry Jutes. She also said she “can’t wait” to “love and cherish” him “forever.”
Lovato and Jutes got engaged after just a year of dating. Before they got together in August 2022, Lovato was engaged to Ehrich from July to September 2020.
