The Tales franchise has confirmed Tales of Berseria for a release on the PlayStation 4 and PC in North America. Berseria has also now gotten its second trailer, showcasing the franchise’s newest, darkest action RPG yet.
Some interesting Tales of Berseria information coming out states that Tales of Berseria is set in the same world as Tales of Zestiria. Bandai Namco recently shared some key details on Tales of Berseria and how it is linked to the world of Tales of Zestiria, in this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine.
According to the article; “Glenwood”, the world from Tales of Zestiria is a continent in the middle of “Wasteland”, the world featured in Tales of Berseria. This means that Berseria’s world is much bigger compared to Zestiria. Even though they’re the same world, names of locations and towns are changed and they won’t even look the same.

Here are some keywords for Tales of Berseria:
- Gomabyo: A disease that changes humans into monsters. While many that have the sickness lose themselves and begin to act violently and attack humans, other humans with Gomabyo are able to keep reason.
- Goma: A human that has transformed into a monster. There’s also been reports of animals being infected by the Gomabyo.
- Seirei: A tribe that uses the power of nature for their Artes. Many of them are lacking selfhood, as they’re used as familiars of humans. Your ally Laiphaset is also a Seirei.
- Scarlet Night: A night when the moon becomes scarlet-colored. They say that it has some sort of connection with the Gomabyo.
Although there are not any specific details, the magazine mentions that the key items of “Compass,” “Comb,” and “Apple” play a big role in the game’s story and characters. Tales of Berseria releases in Japan for the Playstation 4 and Playstation 3 sometime in 2016. The Western release will be for the Playstation 4 and PC with no release date announced yet.
