Before Jason Kelce‘s younger brother, Travis Kelce, began dating Taylor Swift, his career was in full swing. He played for a beloved NFL team, was married with three daughters, and hosted a successful podcast with his sibling. However, after Swift entered his life, things have changed. Not only has his entire family been thrust into the spotlight, but his podcast was bought for a pretty penny, he retired and took a gig on Monday Night Football broadcast, and he’s been seen in multiple commercials. He’s even been tapped to host his own late-night show and is having another baby with his wife, Kylie Kelce. However, that doesn’t mean he wants to take advantage of Swift’s generosity.
On Monday, Jason Kelce appeared on The Rich Eisen Show, where he opened up about his connection to Travis Kelce’s famous girlfriend. Jason admitted that after meeting Taylor Swift she told him that she would gladly give him tickets to see her Eras tour for anyone he knew that wanted to see a show. However, the retired Super Bowl champ rejected the offer, saying he didn’t want to “impose” on the singer.
“It is an immediate no,” Kelce said when he’s asked by friends who want Swift tickets.
Jason went on to reveal that he doesn’t want there to be a dynamic between him and Taylor where he’s always asking for free tickets. Instead, he says that in hopes of not crossing the line with the singer, he simply stays away from the line altogether.
Jason Kelce Says No to Free Taylor Swift Tickets
Of course, fans commended him for not taking Swift up on her generous offer.
“Taylor Swift probably doesn’t get rejected often. Good for Jason for not wanting to take advantage of their relationship. However, just being linked to her has already done wonders for his entire family. So, there’s that,” one person stated.
“Why do you think you’re imposing, JK? Performers have comps to give away. The music industry is famous for getting their buddies into events. You and your brother are already capitalizing big time on Swift’s celebrity. Why is giving some pals tickets suddenly an imposition?” another comment read.
Recently, Jason Kelce has been opening up about having Taylor Swift as an honorary member of his family. He previously admitted that he’s been finding it hard to shop for a Christmas gift for the singer. Of course, she’s is a billionaire who has the capacity to buy nearly anything and everything she could ever want.
Jason then revealed that he would likely do something special for Taylor, possibly even make her a homemade gift from the heart. When pushed on the subject, he joked that a necklace made out of macaroni is always a hit with him when his daughters make it. So, he laughed at the possibility of making one for the global superstar.
It appears that Jason Kelce has a special place in his heart for Taylor Swift. It seems that he doesn’t want her to feel like he’s using her fame to his advantage. However, his connection to the singer certainly has appeared to be nothing but good for the former football star.
