Ryan Edwards of Teen Mom is having a bad day, and it doesn’t look like it will get any better. The MTV reality star arrived in court this morning for his scheduled check-in hearing following his November 6th guilty plea to driving under the influence and drug possession. But, instead of a follow-up hearing, he found himself being hauled out of the courthouse in handcuffs for failing to follow the terms of his probation.
Judge Loses Patience With Teen Mom Star Ryan Edwards
Judge Gary Starnes admits he has lost all patience when dealing with troubled Teen Mom star Ryan Edwards. Because Ryan has failed to uphold all of the terms of his probation stemming from his November DUI case, he was removed from the courtroom today in handcuffs and will be spending the next few days, and possibly more, behind bars.
The judge didn’t beat around the bush after the DA stated many examples of how Ryan Edwards has failed to comply with his probation terms. The Sun reports that the DA also expressed his concerns over Ryan being able to pass a drug test. He also informed the judge that Ryan Edwards has failed to attend his outpatient programs and support groups. So when he asked for Ryan to be drug tested today, Judge Starnes did not hesitate and ordered that test to be given immediately.
One hour later, Ryan was called to the stand. DA Coty informed the judge that Ryan Edwards failed to get his Vivitrol shot on November 17. Vivitrol is a monthly injection that, according to highfocuscenters.com, binds to opioid receptors in the brain, effectively blocking the effects of other opioid agents and alcohol. This treatment aims to stop the euphoric and pleasurable effects of opioids or alcohol, should they be consumed.
Ryan Gets Time To Reflect
The Teen Mom cast member’s drug test is due back on Friday. The DA wants Ryan Edwards arrested immediately if his test results return positive. However, the judge did him one better: he ordered Ryan to be handcuffed and taken to jail until then.
Ryan Edwards asked the judge if he could say something, but the judge shut him right down. So until at least Friday he will be sitting behind bars. Ryan was pretty upset by the turn of events. But like the judge told him, he knew what he was supposed to be doing.
The Teen Mom star has some time to think about his previous actions. He had better hope that drug screen comes back clean. If it doesn’t, come Friday, then it sounds like this time, the judge may throw the book at him.
