A college student on TikTok has been documenting herself undergoing a 50-day alcohol bender before graduating in Tennessee as a social experiment. The videos go over her journey, advice for others, and how she is overcoming obstacles.

Various influencers and other online personalities have shared their opinions on the situation, with some even claiming that her digital footprint will destroy her career. Commenters also shared their opinions in the replies, with many expressing concern over the woman’s well-being.

Something that all of us, not just soon to be grads, REALLY need to take into further consideration before posting anything online is digital footprint. Angie Tonachio’s 50 day bender challenge should be a lesson about the things we post. It is not taken seriously enough, especially by this generation. Everything you do online exists forever & if it is all you are known for it is all you will be associated with. #50daybender #collegegraduation #utk #awarenessvideo

The TikToker allegedly attends college in Tennessee and is expected to graduate soon. Currently, most of her posts on the social media platform focus on the 50-day bender, with her latest post hitting the 44-day mark.

Commenters across various posts were more than concerned about the journey, with one person writing, “Girl that’s just alcoholism.”

Influencer Samara Leilani also took to TikTok as well to share why “the 50 day bender girl should be a lesson on what not to post on the internet.” In her video, she explains that, “Something that all of us, not just soon to be grads, REALLY need to take into further consideration before posting anything online is digital footprint—It is not taken seriously enough, especially by this generation. Everything you do online exists forever & if it is all you are known for it is all you will be associated with.”

Reactions to Tennessee College Student Going on 50-Day Alcohol Bender

Commenters were quick to jump into Leilani’s replies under the video, with many expressing concern for the other woman’s well-being. One person even wrote, “A 50 day bender genuinely sounds lethal.“

For context, heavy and frequent alcohol usage can result in a myriad of health problems, including alcoholic cirrhosis, in which healthy liver tissue is replaced by scar tissue, preventing it from functioning correctly.

Concerning the documentation of these videos on TikTok, other commenters also agreed that her digital footprint should matter to her. Under a Reddit video where the woman shares three crucial steps during her morning routine, one person wrote, “One of the morbid sides of social media is how easy it is to view someones life spiralling in intimate detail.”

As of April 3, the woman in question posted a video celebrating the 44th day of her bender and has not yet posted about the 45th day. Comments in this video also showed concern, with one person writing, “I have a feeling that this is going to last a lot longer than 50 days.”

Viewers are still expressing concern over the woman’s well-being and future.
