Delivery drivers often navigate long hours, tight schedules, traffic delays, and unpredictable interactions with customers, all while being expected to deliver quickly and without issue. But a recent incident in Knoxville, Tennessee, highlights just how quickly things can escalate. In a recent incident, Ryder delivery workers were confronted by an irate neighbor after parking on a residential street, an encounter that many online have since labeled a “Karen” moment. Not only did the woman allegedly hurl racist slurs at the delivery personnel, but according to one of the workers, she also reportedly tried to hit them with her car. The footage is circulating online a right now.

The video opens outside a customer’s property, where the delivery workers had just arrived, and you can see their Ryder delivery truck parked on the residential road in the background. Suddenly, a woman’s screams can be heard escalating off-camera. Concerned and dumbfounded, one of the workers questions the property owner, “These are your neighbors? Do you hear her talking about us like this?”

Moments later, and while the woman continues to yell in the background, one of the delivery employees attempts to add some context to the situation and explains in his own words, “Okay, so I pulled up. I got out of the truck and she didn’t even, like, let me move the truck. She went in this neighbor’s yard — but this truck’s massive, it’s hard to manoeuver. She was like threatening us. She almost tried to hit us with her car right here.” The other employee also chips in and describes the woman’s behavior, stating, “She called us [racial slur]. You’re a [racial slur]. You’re a [racial slur].”

As she approaches the employees, the situation intensifies and her shouting becomes increasingly clear. Her first words are a little tricky to discern, however, but it sounds like, “Let me get my knife.” before she begins yelling angrily: “Hey, stop blocking the road! And you, your employee, just gave me the middle-finger!” However, the delivery men deny this accusation. “You better beat it or we’re calling the cops!” retorts one of the delivery workers, though the woman replies, “I already did!“

The delivery workers agree to wait for the police to arrive and ask the woman to park up and wait for the authorities. However, she continues to approach the delivery men, as she still takes issue with how they parked their truck, stating, “This is not legal. You cannot just hire people to give the middle-finger to women. Don’t point at me! Because you’re a marine?” The neighbor stood with the delivery drivers fires back, “Get off my property!”

At this point in the video, the woman appears to make an extremely disturbing remark, asking, “Do you want to rape me?” before going off on an expletive-filled rant. After explaining how the workers were initially approached and had to hide behind a tree, the delivery drivers express disappointment that they were unable to get the woman’s licence plate number. At the end of the video, the employee shows how there was enough room for the woman to get around his parked truck, though he admits that it does look “a little tight.“

Online Backlash and Reactions

The video has sparked a multitude of reactions online, with the majority criticising the woman’s aggressive and threatening behavior. On Instagram, the description gives some context and reads as follows, “TENNESSEE HAS THE WORSE KARENS *** HARD R & TRIED TO RUN PEOPLE OVER!”

One user on IG simply wrote, “I could never live in a red state” while a second netizen chimed in with, “Oh my God, the anger is so deep in her“. A third commenter penned, “Such an angry world.” and a fourth added, “She brought her attitude to Tennessee. people I have met from there have been so very nice.she must be from Michigan 😂😂😂” Meanwhile, on Reddit, one person remarked bluntly with, “that unholy banshee screech that only the white woman can unleash and it can be heard across three cul-de-sacs 🫣🫣🫣“.

Ultimately, it’s the kind of encounter people often describe as a “Karen in the wild” moment, and while the situation was clearly tense and unsettling, thankfully no one was physically harmed.
