A Tennessee family was visiting an aunt who was staying at a motel in Selmer. They decided to hang out in the pool with her for a couple hours while she was still in town. However, an employee at the motel put an end to those plans. What happened was a confrontation and an angry employee telling them they weren’t allowed to be there.
Sharlena (@sharlenaallen) and her family went to visit an aunt who was spending some time at a motel while she was in town. When they got there, they went up a pathway to the pool and discovered there was no way to access the pool from the overgrown area. They were also told they needed to register their names to use the pool. By the time they got down to the bottom of the walkway to register, there was a man standing there who was identified as an employee of the motel. He was reportedly furious and started immediately yelling at them about not being permitted back there.
Sharlena says she went to register them at the pool and the man followed them into the office, saying, “They just need to leave.” He told them he was going to walk them off the premises. In Sharlena’s video, the employee is getting in their faces, yelling at them as they try to explain that they didn’t know they weren’t allowed to take that path to the pool. She tells them it was a “complete misunderstanding” that led to him yelling at them for no reason.
As the man stands there and tells them that they need to leave, Sharlena yells, “We are leaving! You are WRONG.” The man accuses them of trying to hit them and Sharlena, shocked, says that never happened and the employee was actually trying to put his hands on them. They fight back and forth until Sharlena and her family get back in the vehicle and leave the premises.
Commenters immediately reacted to Sharlena’s video, shocked by how the employee treated them for wandering into the wrong area. One commenter stated, “Him coming and acting as if you committed some federal offense.” Another commenter questioned, “So they got mad cause you walked up to the wrong area, where the pool used to be? Are they hiding something? He got real defensive over you walking into the wrong area.”
Other commenters, however, told Sharlena that she was in the wrong and mishandled the situation. One commenter stated, “You ain’t supposed to rent a room and bring all your family to swim wth! I love that place. Will use again.” Another added, “You always have to be a guest to use the hotel pools. I’ve never been to a hotel that allowed visitors to use the pool.” Commenters continue to share their reactions and opinions on Sharlena’s video. Many agree that the employee handled the situation poorly.
