A Texas woman was just trying to throw an enjoyable birthday party for her daughter at their community pool. However, things got out of hand when a wild Karen decided she was going to ruin their fun. In the end, it led to a tense confrontation and, ultimately, the arrest of a firefighter.
Posted by TikTok user Dayumvikcole (Vikki), the confrontation started when a “drunken” woman showed up and was causing trouble. In Vikki’s video, you can see the Karen stumbling around the pool and screaming at them. She even readies up like she’s about to fight.
According to Vikki, after the confrontation, the woman called her husband for backup. The husband, who is an Irving firefighter, showed up to the pool with a firearm and pointed it at some of the locals. The end of Vikki’s video shows the Karen and her husband in handcuffs outside the pool area as police investigate.
Follow-up reporting by NBC5 about the incident states the 44-year-old firefighter, Kevin Brown, lives close to the neighborhood pool and showed up when his wife, Aidan Brown, called. A father who attended the pool party was there to witness the confrontation. He said he looked up from where he was standing at the pool and “saw all the kids running frantically.” It was at that moment he noticed the firefighter was wielding an AR..
All of this allegedly happened because the woman wasn’t happy with the neighbors propping the gate to the pool open. From there, the argument ensued between the woman and several other parents attending the pool party.
People dragged the parents online and celebrated their arrests
Not only were TikTok users quite happy that the parents got negative karma, they took to sharing the identities of the couple online, as well as where they worked. Additionally, people online condemned the parents for their poor choices.
Among the top comment, sitting at over 700 Likes, a TikTok user gave a “PSA,” noting that the City of Irving on Instagram doesn’t have “IG comments off.” Meaning anyone could still voice their opinion to the community.
Some were happy to see some level of justice. “Glad to see her in cuffs at the end,” one commenter wrote, while another said, “Thank God that thug was arrested!”
Others went further, with one commenter sharing, “Hope he doesn’t get hired on at any other department.” You certainly wouldn’t want someone like that working as a firefighter.
So was a propped open gate really worth a Class B misdemeanor? Not to mention traumatizing children in the process? The Internet says ‘no.’
