Texas Man Says $10K Office Rental Dispute Takes Wild Turn When Police Are Called: ‘Imagine if He Wasn’t Recording’

He wanted an office, not this drama

Texas Man Claims He Was Scammed Out of $10,000 Trying to Rent an Office: 'The Audacity!'

A Texas man accused another man of scamming him out of $10,000 during a heated dispute over an office rental. The confrontation became even more tense when the owner told police that the man had pushed him, an accusation the man denied while continuing to record. Neither side’s claims have been independently verified.

TikTok user Josh Jones, who posts as @joshjonesyt, recorded the confrontation as the dispute unfolded. In the video, Josh warns viewers against renting office space from the people involved and says he paid $10,000 but was denied access to the property he rented.

The confrontation escalates after the other man tells police that Josh pushed him. Josh denies touching him and continues recording as the two sides give conflicting accounts of what happened.

The video does not provide enough information to establish what happened to the $10,000 or whether a scam actually took place. It also does not establish whether Josh pushed the other man. The terms of the office rental agreement and what happened before the recording began remain unclear.

‘Imagine if He Wasn’t Recording’: Viewers Say the Video Could Make All the Difference

Viewers were stunned by the exchange, with many focusing on how differently the situation might have played out if the man hadn’t been recording.

“Imagine if he wasn’t recording,” one person wrote.

“Gotta record everything nowadays for your proof or people will lie on you,” another added, while someone else simply said, “I’m glad you are recording.”

But one detail also had viewers laughing despite the seriousness of the confrontation: the man recording repeatedly helped the other man understand what the dispatcher was asking him.

“Not you helping him answer the dispatch question,” one viewer joked.

Another couldn’t get over the same moment, writing, “Helping him understand her is crazy.”

Not everyone was ready to decide who was telling the truth based solely on the clip, however. A few viewers pointed out that the recording appears to begin after the dispute was already underway. “How do we know if you pushed him before you started recording?” one person questioned. “What happened before you started recording?” another asked.

That missing context matters. The video captures the phone call and the accusations being made during it, but it doesn’t show how the confrontation began. For now, viewers are still waiting for the biggest missing piece of the story: what happened when police arrived.

“We need an update,” one commenter demanded, echoing dozens of others asking for a second part.

For now, Josh hasn’t provided the answers viewers want most. The video doesn’t establish what happened to the $10,000 he says he paid or how the office rental dispute ultimately ended. It also stops before viewers see the outcome of the police call.

That has left thousands invested in what happens next. “We need an update,” one viewer wrote, while another asked, “Sooo what happened next???” Until Josh shares more, the $10,000 dispute and what police made of the conflicting accounts remain unresolved.
