A Texas woman who didn’t want to be recorded had one obvious way to end the problem: drive away. Instead, she stopped alongside the people filming, rolled down her window, and repeatedly told them she didn’t consent to being recorded, turning what could have been a brief encounter into a lengthy roadside argument.
The video, posted by TikTok user @centraltyrant, shows two cars parked side by side on a Texas road (you can watch it here). One man records from inside a vehicle while another stands nearby. The woman pulls up beside them, lowers her window, and quickly makes her objection clear.
“I don’t consent to being recorded,” she tells them.
The conversation soon begins going in circles. The man filming tells her to be quiet, while the woman demands to know why they’re recording her. Another man can be heard saying they are recording license plates, prompting her to argue that they aren’t allowed to do that either.
The woman’s objection doesn’t necessarily mean the men needed her permission to continue filming. Being visible in a public place does not generally give someone control over whether they appear in another person’s ordinary video, and a visible license plate is routinely observable from public roads. Nothing in the clip establishes that simply recording the vehicles or their plates was illegal.
The woman also repeatedly complains that one of the men “called her out of her name,” claiming he had told her to “shut up, b****.” She accuses the men of disrespecting Black women before briefly rolling up her window, only to lower it again and repeat that she does not consent to being recorded.
Eventually, the man filming asks whether “bitch” is actually her name. When she says it isn’t, he uses her answer to argue that he technically hadn’t called her by her name at all.
He then tells the woman he wasn’t talking to her in the first place and suggests that she simply drive away. Eventually, she does.
Viewers Question Why Texas Woman Didn’t Leave
Viewers were particularly amused that the woman continued the conversation despite repeatedly objecting to being recorded. “I love that she’s so bothered,” one person wrote, while another highlighted how the confrontation began: “Rolls down window I don’t consent to being recorded.”
Others pointed out that she could have ended the encounter by driving away. “Miss you don’t wanna be recorded, but yet you still sitting right there talking to them instead of driving off,” one viewer wrote.
Another wasn’t convinced she wanted to avoid the attention at all, commenting simply, “She’d want the spotlight.”
What prompted the men to record license plates remains unclear, and the identities of those involved have not been independently verified. The video captures only the confrontation itself, leaving out whatever happened before the woman pulled alongside them. What it does show is that despite repeatedly insisting she didn’t want to be recorded, she remained long enough to turn that objection into the very video now circulating online.
