Thanos And the Infinity Stones Return For Marvel Crossover Event

Marvel is bringing Thanos and the Infinity Stones back for a major crossover event.

Thanos is back, and he is bringing the Infinity Stones along with him. Marvel has announced a new Infinity Saga event for the summer. This new event will run across nine Marvel annuals and sees the Mad Titan back on the hunt for the precious artifacts. It all kicks off with a Thanos annual one-shot that will bleed into the annual one-shots for Spider-Man and Thor. The entire summer event will culminate in the reveal of a new Infinity Watch team destined to protect the Stones. However, that is not the only reveal planned for this major event.

Thanos and the Infinity Stones are making a comeback in a big way to the Marvel Universe. According to Marvel, the most coveted stones in the universe have resurfaced. However, this time around, they are bonded to some of Marvel’s newest heroes and villains. This makes Thanos’ hunt for them all the more fun. Spreading over nine annuals, this new Infinity Saga is bringing old and new faces alike into the struggle for command of these powerful relics. It all culminates in a brand-new lineup of the Infinity Watch, the legendary guardians of the Infinity Stones.

Writer Derek Landy is taking charge of this new event. He is taking over writing duties for key chapters of this new Infinity Saga. Joining Landy is artist Sara Pichelli, who will be responsible for the backup stories in each of the annuals. These will follow the creation and hunt for the mysterious new Infinity Stone: The Death Stone.

Continuing The Saga 

This new Infinity Saga brings back not only Thanos and the Infinity Stones but also other familiar faces from previous Infinity Sagas. Recent bearers of the Stones will make an appearance, including Star, Overtime, Prince of Power, Quantum, and Multitude. Readers will also meet the new bearer of the Mind Stone for the first time. As the bearers deal with these newfound powers, Thanos, who is fresh off a dramatic transformation in Christopher Cantwell’s Thanos series, is on the hunt. 

Thanos Annual #1 is on sale 06/26. The story continues in Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1 on 07/03 and Immortal Thor Annual #1 on 07/17.
