The Finals is an explosive new FPS that you can enjoy casually, but more competitive players will eventually want to make the jump to ranked. The ranked system works similarly to many other FPS games, but it has a couple of unique features that might not be obvious at first. If you’re a hardcore player interested in testing yourself against the best of the best, ranked is the way to go. The game’s release was one of the biggest surprises of The Game Awards 2023, and it’s captured the attention of FPS fans ever since. Here’s everything you need to know about the ranked system in The Finals to get you started on your climb to greatness.
How the Ranked System Works in The Finals
Like most other competitive shooters, The Finals divides its competitive mode into leagues. There are five leagues in total, and if you want to play with the world’s best players you’ll need to grind your way up from the very bottom. That means participating in tournaments of 48 players divided into 16 teams. These matches occur over four rounds. Each league is further divided into ranks, measuring your progression across each league before you graduate to the next. Here’s how the ranked system looks in The Finals:
- Bronze (4-1)
- Silver (4-1)
- Gold (4-1)
- Platinum (4-1)
- Diamond (4-1)
That means the highest attainable rank is Diamond 1. It’ll take a lot of work and some clever tricks to get there, however. To climb the ranks you need to gain Fame Points (FP). Gaining FP requires you to perform well in ranked tournaments. This mode only unlocks after you’ve played 60 matches. That ensures players have a bit of experience under their belts before diving off the deep end.
The good news is, once you’ve achieved a certain league in The Finals, you can’t drop to a lower one. That means that if you’ve reached Gold 4 and have a string of bad matches, you still won’t fall back down to Silver 1.
