The First Descendant Encrypted Storage Box Farming Guide

Apart from repeatedly shooting Greg and Greg’s clones, another “grind” you can do in The Last Descendant would be hunting down Encrypted Storage Box puzzles. You will want to farm them in bulk because they contain some crafting components necessary for the Crystallization Catalyst and Energy Activator. Best Encrypted Storage Box Locations in The First Descendant

It’s worth noting that each Encrypted Storage Box gives out different rewards depending on the area. The ones you’ll find in Agna Desert, for example, usually drop Mixed Energy Residue for Crystallization Catalysts while those in Vespers drop Conductive Metallic Foil for Energy Activators.

You’ll want to farm Energy Storage Boxes in both locations so you can get these two crafting components needed for upgrades. However, certain spots in the aforementioned locations have a better concentration of Encrypted Storage Boxes. Go to these spots to look for them:

I’ve chosen those locations over the others because they contain at least three Encrypted Storage Boxes next to one another (or near one another). This makes farming them easier since the Encrypted Storage Box spawn rate in a map is reliant on RNG.

Additionally, you will need the following consumables to unlock these Encrypted Storage Boxes:

• Code Analyzer – Normal Difficulty (for each attempt)
• Code Breaker – Hard Difficulty (for each attempt)

You can farm them from missions. Once you have those ready (along with the locations unlocked), it’s time for the farming method below.

How to Farm Encrypted Storage Box in The First Descendant

Depending on the location or the material you need, go to the aforementioned spots I mentioned. Bring your Code Analyzers or Code Breakers, of course (or farm for them).

Here are the instructions:

1. Turn your in-game volume high.
2. Go to the location marked in the map image above (either in Vespers or Agna Desert).
3. Make sure you’re in the marked vicinity. Once there, keep tapping your Ecive.
4. You want to listen to high-pitched “pings” while using your Ecive. The pings indicate the presence of Encrypted Storage Boxes.
5. If there are no pings, change your in-game difficulty to hard and try again. If there are still no pings, change back to normal and try again. Keep repeating until there’s a ping.
6. If you don’t have Hard mode unlocked yet, you can go back to Albion and return to the farming spot.
7. If there’s a ping, look around the area for a statue that looks like a sarcophagus (refer to the top image). That’s the Encrypted Storage Box.
8. Activate the box and play the unlock mini-game. Ensure that you time your mouse clicks in the indicated area.

If you time the clicks right, you’ll open the Encrypted Storage Box. Rinse and repeat the steps for an unlimited supply of crafting materials.
