The long-awaited launch for The First Descendant finally happened, but it brought with it a bug that affected the game’s premium currency, Caliber. For the unaware, this currency is necessary to buy any cosmetic items in the shop or even some of the Descendants. Sadly, many players reported a delay in getting Caliber, which has made the process of obtaining new characters much slower. Thankfully, the developers worked on a fix fast and gave out some apologetic rewards for all players.
It would seem that the season of live service games launching with issues and apologizing instantly isn’t over. I don’t say this in a bad way. I think it is fantastic that the developers make up for these problems. As you can see, the Caliber bug that plagued The First Descendant is now gone. As a way to compensate, players can enjoy the following bonuses:
- Gold Gain +30% Boost (3 days)
- Kuiper Shard Gain +30% Boost (3 days)
- Descendant EXP Gain +30% Boost (3 days)
- Weapon Proficiency EXP Gain +30% Boost (3 days)
What could’ve been a horror story for the studio turned out to be quite wholesome, at least on social media. Many players praise the speed at which Nexon responded to this problem and even provide compensation for all players.
Frankly, I think it is a great idea to pamper players after they face an issue. Nowadays, many live service games are in the market, and they all fight to stay at the top of the food chain. Also, with how low player retention is in this genre, it is nice to see developers are doing their best to keep gamers around. I only hope the Caliber bug in The First Descendant doesn’t return. This new experience is quite promising, and players should give it a chance. Many call it Destiny 2 with waifus, and I don’t blame them. However, it is much more than that, and everyone should grab their favorite Descendant and join the fight right now.
