The First Descendant: Ultimate Descendants Explained (Are They Worth It?) & How to Get Them

Being the first isn’t enough, you need to be the ultimate!

This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

Everybody wants their character to be more special, and in The First Descendant, the most special ones are the Ultimate Descendants. They are more stylish and slightly more powerful variants of the normal Descendants (which everyone can obtain more easily). Consequently, Ultimate Descendants are more challenging to obtain. Are they worth it? That’s something we’re going to find out as I explain the Ultimate Descendants in The First Descendant.

What Are Ultimate Descendants?

Simply put, they’re more powerful versions of Descendants, complete with a certain skin that indicates their rarity and variance. Here’s exactly what makes them different compared to regular Descendants:

  • Unique Skin
  • Slightly Higher Stats
  • Different Module capacity/polarity
  • Special and exclusive Ultimate Transcendent Modules (for skills)

The stat boosts are negligible, but the Module slot convenience and the special Modules make the Ultimate Descendants more appealing. On top of the skin, they’re more than just trophies and might provide certain gameplay boosts.

However, you can still come close to their performance with your regular and well-built Descendants. Currently (at the time of writing), there are only five Ultimate Descendants:

  • Ultimate Ajax
  • Ultimate Lepic
  • Ultimate Viessa
  • Ultimate Bunny
  • Ultimate Gley

Think of them as your long-term goal or something more suitable for min-maxers.

How To Unlock Ultimate Descendants

There are two main methods of obtaining Ultimate Descendants. And you probably know about the first one.

  • Buy them with Caliber (premium currency).
  • Manually acquire their materials and craft them.

The Caliber method, of course, is incomparably faster than the ‘free’ method. The cheapest Ultimate Descendant bundle in the in-game store costs 3,000 Caliber or around $60-70 USD, depending on your region.

If you don’t want to pay Caliber or spend real money on them, you can grind for them manually with this step-by-step process.

  1. Go to Anais in Albion.
  2. Select Research Request.
  3. Select Descendant.
  4. Select the Ultimate Descendant you want to obtain.
  5. Hover or mouse over their Research Materials and select either ‘Go to Research‘ (and then ‘Acquisition Info‘) or ‘Acquisition Info.’
  6. This will tell you where you can obtain the crafting materials for a particular Descendant.
  7. Go to these locations and play the corresponding missions repeatedly until you get the crafting materials.

Take note that the drop chances are low, and once you have the crafting materials, you will need to wait 36 hours for the Ultimate Descendant to finish crafting. On top of that, there’s a fee of 900,000 Gold.

It’s also worth noting that some of the locations that drop Ultimate Descendant crafting materials are high-level areas with the [Hard] difficulty tag. That means you need a properly geared and well-built character and weapon loadout. Good luck out there.
