Ember is one of the oldest Warframes or characters in Warframe and she goes way back from 2012. The fire-based Warframe has gone through several reworks and her sparks have since been reignited thanks to the recent Ember Heirloom skin. If you’re looking to dust off Ember or simply want to make good use of that new Ember Heirloom skin, here’s an Ember build guide for Warframe.
How to Get Ember in Warframe 2024
You have a couple of ways to get Ember or Ember Prime in Warframe. Thankfully, it’s not too much of a grind. Here’s where to obtain the crafting parts for Ember and Ember Prime.
Warframe Variant | Drop Locations |
Ember | Blueprint – In-game Market Neuroptics/Systems/Chassis -General Sargas Ruk (Tethys, Saturn) |
Ember Prime | Blueprint – Axi E1 / Meso E1 / Neo E1 Chassis – Meso F2 / Neo F1 Systems – Axi S2 / Lith G1 Neuroptics – Meso F3 / Neo S5 |
Additionally, if you want to skip the grind or the RNG, then you can simply purchase a fully built regular Ember from the in-game Market using Platinum. Meanwhile, Ember Prime is available for trading with other players and the whole set typically costs 100-120 Platinum depending on who you’re trading with.
If you have Ember, prepare her for this endgame or Steel Path-ready build.
Ember Prime Build in Warframe
This works for both Ember and Ember Prime, though you will need to invest more Forma into the former. As for how many Forma, expect to sink around 3-4, maybe less if you don’t max out the expensive Primed mods.
Naturally, our Ember build for Warframe is a nuker but she still has some heavy tanking capabilities thanks to Overguard granted by a certain Warframe Augment mod.
Mod Name | Effect | Alternative |
Mecha Empowered (Aura) | Squad deals +150% extra Damage against a Marked Enemy | Growing Power if you use Rolling Guard or Adaptation |
Power Drift | +15% Ability Strength +30% Chance to Resist Knockdown | Cunning Drift |
Primed Continuity | +55% Ability Duration | Regular Continuity (weaker) |
Primed Flow | +185% Energy Max | Regular Flow (weaker) |
Healing Flame | Fire Blast Augment: Each enemy hit heals Ember by 25 to 50 depending on current Immolation level. | None, you need this to sustain |
Exothermic | Inferno Augment: Enemies killed while under the effect of Inferno have a 15% chance to drop an energy orb. | None, you need this to sustain DPS |
Mecha Pulse | Killing a Marked Enemy grants +60% Armor for 20s for each enemy within 30m. | Rolling Guard or Adaptation for added tankiness |
Archon Vitality | +100% Health Status Effects from abilities that deal Heat Damage will be applied twice. | Regular Vitality but you’ll get lower damage |
Stretch | +45% Ability Range | None |
Streamine | +30% Ability Efficiency | Intensify if you have Arcane Energize |
It should also be noted that this is a spellcaster build and requires lots of Energy boosts. It’s thus less reliant on weapons. So it can be expensive.
Arcanes for the Ember Build
Your options are quite obvious here and they can be quite pricey. Thankfully, we also have alternatives to the rather expensive Arcane Energize (which was recently available through an event). Add these two for more DPS and more sustainability.
- Molt Augmented
- Arcane Energize
If you don’t have Arcane Energize, feel free to replace it with any Arcane of your choice. You’ll just need to make up for it with Archone Shards. Speaking of which…
Archon Shards (& Helminth Options) for the Ember Build
Do replace Ember’s first ability with a subsumed Roar from Rhino. You can keep it, but Roar provides a substantial damage boost. A good alternative would be Gloom from Sevagoth but it’s too Energy-hungry; I wouldn’t pick Gloom if you don’t have at least a Rank 3 or Rank 4 Arcane Energize.
For your Archon Shards, pick the following:
- 2x Amber Archon Shards (Casting Speed & Energy Orb Efficiency)
- 3x Crimson Archon Shards (Duration/Strength)
Go for two Energy Orb Efficiency Amber shards if you don’t have Arcane Energize. As for Crimson Archon Shards, Duration is great for both Roar and Gloom, but if you don’t care much for those subsumed Abilities, then you can pick Strength for more nuking capabilities.
Playstyle for the Warframe Ember Build
You need to get used to an Ability or spell rotation for this build, otherwise, it’s going to underperform and you might get killed.
Follow the step-by-step instructions for this Ember build Ability rotation:
- Cast the 2nd Ability (Immolation) for damage reduction.
- Follow it up with your subsumed 1st Ability (Roar or Gloom).
- Cast the 4th Ability (Inferno) and let it generate Heat.
- If the Heat is at max level, cast the 3rd Ability (Fire Blast). This step is even more important for armored enemies.
- Cast the 4th Ability (Inferno) again, to finish off the armor-stripped and burning enemies. You can also use your weapon to conserve Energy.
Compared to other nukers, it’s simpler to remember. If you find that enemies are hitting too hard, you can use the 3rd Ability before casting the 4th Ability to try and build up Overguard so you don’t get killed before nuking everyone with Inferno.
More importantly, don’t forget to use the Ember Heirloom skin for added style and sizzles. It’s one of the main reasons for this build.
