While Sony is known for its breathtakingly beautiful story driven games (Uncharted, The Last of Us), the multiplayer components fo these titles have been surprisingly beloved by fans. That’s why it shouldn’t come as a surprise that “Factions” will be making a return in The Last of Us: Part II.
In a recent interview with GameSpot, co-directors Anthony Newman and Kurt Margenau revealed that the hit multiplayer from the first title would be returning.
“Multiplayer is coming back,” said Margenau.” We’re not going to talk details yet about what form that takes, but we can confirm there will be multiplayer.
Add this news to the 11-minute long gameplay trailer that fans were treated to of The Last of Us: Part II and it is no wonder that many are claiming that the title stole the show yet again.
As of now, Naughty Dog and Sony are still being vague regarding the release date of the sequel. In an interview with Pushsquare, Naughty Dog even went as far as to say that The Last of Us: Part II release date won’t be revealed until it is “very close.”
