There has been some more footage leaked from The Last of Us series that is set to be released on HBO Max in 2023. There haven’t been many details confirmed so far, and fans of the franchise have been wondering what the story will focus on. This new leaked footage might give those fans some ideas of what to expect.

The footage that has been released from The Last of Us series was shot in downtown Calgary and shows military forces moving through the city’s streets. As the trucks are making their way through these streets, red flares begin to go off from several buildings nearby, and some celebratory gunfire can be seen and heard. But the biggest clue comes from the extras who appear to be shouting “Freedom” and “F**k FEDRA.” Check out the footage below and see what you think.

What does it mean for The Last of Us series?

Now, for fans of the games, this footage from The Last of Us series could generate quite a few ideas in your heads. The clips suggest that this scene will attempt to depict the Pittsburgh Quarantine Zone before the events of The Last of Us, which, if you know, is roughly around the time the Hunters overthrew FEDRA, leading to the zone being overtaken. But this is just one theory, although the series looks at being an origin story of sorts, so this could be an accurate guess.

Some more leaked footage from the HBO Max series shows Bella Ramsey (who is portraying Ellie) attempting to squeeze herself through a very small gap before swiftly making her around and opening a door for Pedro Pascal’s Joel to enter – now. This was a common occurrence in the original game, which is cool to see.

Even though it wasn’t much, it is certainly something to keep our imagination going, and with HBO creating the show, it has potential. Obviously, we don’t have an exact release date for The Last of Us series, but it has been revealed to be still looking at a 2023 release on HBO Max.
