This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

In The Planet Crafter, you’re playing as a convict who has to redeem yourself by terraforming a dead planet. You are not the first person to have attempted this arduous task since you can find traces of human activities. Alas, it seems that they fail since the planet has not shown any signs of improvement when you arrive. To complete your mission in The Planet Crafter, you must raise the planet’s Terraformation Index and reach the final Terraformation stage.

How To Increase Terraformation Index in The Planet Crafter

The Terraformation process in The Planet Crafter consists of 14 stages. When you first arrive, the planet will be barren of life, but you can make the place habitable with enough dedication and a lot of high-end technology.

The tutorial section only lasts until you manage to reach 175 kTi and turn the sky blue. To progress the Terraformation stage in The Planet Crafter, you must raise your Index by increasing the amount of Heat, Oxygen, and Pressure on the planet. During the end-game, you will be introduced to Biomass, related to the number of living creatures on the planet.

You can raise Heat by crafting Heaters, and you can get Pressure by building Drills. On the other hand, you can produce Oxygen by growing plants on Vegetubes, Biodomes, or Spreaders. Of course, you also need to build a ton of machines to power these tools.

In essence, your goal is to make sure your Energy output keeps up with your Terraforming tools. Unless you’re playing in Creative Mode, you’ll need a ton of rare materials to build these technologies, so you must be comfortable exploring the desolate planet to gather minerals.

You can monitor your Terraformation Index and your current stage in The Planet Crafter via various screens on your base. Luckily, you won’t miss these tools since they are listed as objectives during the tutorial section.
