An insider says that over the years, it became clear that the Top Gun star wasn’t willing to sacrifice his involvement in Scientology for a relationship with his daughter. Now, it may be too late as Suri is all grown up.
According to The Mirror, Tom Cruise willingly gave up his connection with Suri Cruise so that he could participate in things that were more important to him, such as his religion. Following her 18th birthday, Suri officially dropped her famous dad’s last name. When she graduated from high school, she was announced as Suri Noelle, now using Katie Holmes’ middle name as her surname. “The truth is, for the last 11 years, Tom has chosen not to see Suri,” a source dished.

“Tom has proven over and over again that his No. 1 loyalty is to [his religion] and David Miscavige,” expert Tony Ortega tells In Touch Weekly. “It became more and more obvious Tom had completely cut Suri out of his life. And frankly, Suri may be better off for it,” he added.
Now that Suri Cruise is of legal age, her father no longer has to go through Katie Holmes to contact her. However, he seemingly has not done so. Instead, while Suri has been busy going to prom, graduating high school, and preparing for college, Tom Cruise has been working on projects and attending events like Taylor Swift’s Eras tour.
Meanwhile, fans have plenty to say about Cruise’s priorities where Suri was concerned.
