Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz are still waiting to hear from Bravo about Season 12 of Vanderpump Rules. However, they’re feeling really hopeful about the show’s future. During a chat with Us Weekly, the Toms, who rose to fame on the Bravo reality show, spoke about the series currently being on pause. As Schwartz shared more about the behind-the-scenes details, he said he wasn’t sure what was coming up in the future. Despite that, though, he’s remaining “optimistic” amid the uncertainty. “I’d love to film again,” he said.
The reality star continued, saying he grew up on camera and the cast and crew have become “my family.”
Vanderpump Rules first aired in 2013. Since then, it has lasted 11 seasons on the network. After Tom Sandoval’s affair, most of the cast was in a tough spot. Friendships were fractured, and relationships were ruined, which reportedly led producers to want to end the show. But the rumors don’t seem to be bothering some of the show’s marquee players. “I think when we come back, it’s going to be different,” Sandoval said.
Will Vanderpump Rules Return for Season 12?
It’s still unclear whether Bravo will bring Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz back for Season 12 of VPR. However, Thea de Sousa, author of the Vanderpump Rules trivia book, spilled some tea on a podcast about what they’ve heard.
During Thea’s conversation on the Deux/U podcast, they shared that the production company is planning to film another season of the show, but it won’t be the full 12 weeks of filming. Instead, Thea is claiming they will film a final wrap-up season for “three weeks.”
They continued, saying the change is necessary because the show has become “too expensive” to produce. Cast members receive pay raises before each season, and considering some stars have been there since day one, that could be one hefty check to cut.
Thea also claimed that every cast member from the year before “signed on” to return, and the budget was approved. Now, they’re waiting for the network’s next steps.
What Other Shows Has Bravo Put On Pause?
Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz aren’t the only Bravo stars waiting to hear what’s next for their series. Teresa Giudice and The Real Housewives of New Jersey are waiting on the edges of their seats to hear what the network will decide about their show. Many of the ladies know they’re on the chopping block, and Jennifer Aydin feels there’s only one cast member who should feel comfortable about returning.
“But at the end of the day, I believe, I believe [if] they were going to keep anybody, for sure, I would say Teresa,” she said. “I don’t think the show could be Housewives of New Jersey with a few of us and not Teresa.”
RHONJ isn’t the only show on a break, though. News that The Real Housewives of Dubai was also placed on pause recently shook the Bravosphere, too. “I’m so bummed! I’ve loved the first two seasons of #RHODUBAI! I was really looking forward to season 3,” someone wrote on X/Twitter.
So, what could the future hold for VPR fans? Well, as the Toms said, we’ll have to wait and see.
