If you’ve played even one round of Warframe, you know that melee weapons are king. In the right hands and with the right mods, these highly versatile weapons are incredibly powerful. However, with such a massive amount of variety in the game, it can be difficult to know which weapons are the best! If you’re looking for some assistance in your battle amongst the stars, you’ve come to the right place. Here are five of the strongest melee weapons in Warframe.
5. Nikana Prime
Unfortunately, this weapon is currently vaulted, meaning you must engage in player trading to get this weapon for yourself. If you’re lucky enough to have it already, then congrats- you own one of the strongest melee weapons in Warframe. As the name suggests, the weapon is the primed variant of the Nikana, an already potent blade.
There are there are four mods that are an absolute must-have for this weapon: Blind Justice, Condition Overload, Blood Rush, and Weeping Wounds. Each of these modifications play a crucial role in turning the Nikana Prime into a fast-hitting killer. As amazing as this blade is, it does lose some points due to a lack of versatility.
4. Innodem (Incarnon Form)
This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to those who are familiar with Warframe. The Innodem may be a dagger, but that doesn’t stop it from having some of the most ridiculous range of any melee weapon in Warframe. As an added bonus, the dagger is fairly easy to obtain by heading over to Cavalero’s shop.
The Innodem requires a bit of proactivity from the player to be fully efficient. Play as normal until you hit at least 3x combo, and then use a heavy attack to activate Incarnon Form. Now, for the next 2 minutes, you will have increased attack speed and range. Pointed Wind, Primed Reach, and Condition Overload are must-have mods for this weapon. The Innodem in its Incarnon Form is easily the most viable end-game dagger in all of Warframe.
3. Cerata
The Cerata might just be Warframe’s most underrated melee weapon. Sure, it requires a fair bit of grinding to reach, but the Infested Glaive is downright deadly in the right hands. The Cerata may currently be the single best weapon when it comes to defeating the Corpus, thanks to its forced toxin proc.
To maximize Cerata’s potential, be sure to equip Killing Blow, Volatile Quick Return, and Primed Fever Strike. These mods will ensure that you output the most toxin damage possible. The Cerata truly has no downside, but do keep in mind that you will need to excel at player movement in order to use it properly.
2. Kronen Prime
Not only is the Kronen Prime incredibly fun to use, but it is also a straight-up killing machine. Of every tonfa in the game, the Kronen Prime has the highest attack speed, the second-highest base damage, and the second-highest status chance. It excels at practically everything it does, and that is before it has any weapon mods.
Furthermore, the Kronen Prime has the Sovereign Outcast attack stance. This stance further improves forced status procs to give it that extra edge over virtually every other melee weapon in Warframe. Even after its nerf in update 29.10, the Kronen Prime is an undeniably fantastic weapon.
1. Glaive Prime
Anybody familiar with end-game Warframe knows just how insane the Glaive Prime is. In fact, you’re probably tired of hearing about it all the time. Funny enough, it isn’t even a true melee weapon. Most players use it exclusively for its heavy attack, which launches AoE bombs all over the place.
Despite all this, the Glaive Prime undoubtedly deserves its spot on the list. Not only does it have insane base stats, but the weapon also has forced slash procs that can entirely ignore armor. For as long as the Glaive Prime continues to be an easy one-shot-kill to hordes, players will continue to use it.
