Remnant 2 contains plenty of weapons, from hammers and energy swords to various deadly guns. Some unique weapons, however, can only be crafted using materials dropped by bosses. Getting these arms is worth the trouble, as they rank amongst some of the most useful and powerful in the game. There are a lot of variables and viable strategies in Remnant 2, so what weapon is truly best will always depend on the player’s archetype and playstyle. That said, these weapons are undeniably potent weapons of war.
8. Red Doe Staff
The Red Doe Staff’s wide swings make it a unique and powerful addition to any Remnant 2 player’s arsenal, ideal for melee crowd control. Most important, however, is its unique Lifeline mod. Lifeline triggers when the player deals 250 damage, causing the next Charge Attack to release a Doe. The Doe damages enemies and causes allies in its path to regenerate 10% of their Health. With the right stats and gear, this is a game-changer. Crafting this weapon requires the Cracked Doe’s Antler, attained by saving the Doe and beating the Corrupted Ravager on Yaesha.
7. Twisted Arbalest
The Twisted Arbalest is a Long Arm specializing in close to medium-range firefights. Its mod is Guardian’s Call, which Empowers the player’s primary fire when their mod power is full, highlighting any enemy it strikes. Activating the mod calls down a Guardian Sword to strike any highlighted enemies. These swords deal decent damage and stagger foes, leaving them vulnerable to follow-ups. All in all, the Twisted Arbalest is a potent wild card. The player must defeat the Corruptor while its Guardian is destroyed to gain this boss weapon.
6. Godsplitter
Some weapons in Remnant 2 are specialist tools designed to thrive in niche scenarios. Godsplitter is the opposite. This brutal boss weapon is a solid pick throughout the player’s run. Godsplitter’s unique mod is Fracture, which causes Charge Attacks to taint enemies. Once an enemy has been tainted, every strike against them counts as a Weakspot hit for a brief period of time. The ability to unload a ton of Weakspot hits should not be overlooked. It’s a shame that Godsplitter’s base damage compares unfavorably with other weapons in its category. To get this weapon, the player must defeat Faerin to get the Melded Hilt item.
5. Nebula
What’s better than spraying your enemies with lead or dicing them with a sword? Melting them with acid, of course. Nebula is less straightforward than other weapons, but the trade-off is worth it. Striking enemies with Nebula’s acid applies the Corroded effect, dealing Corrosive Damage over time. Any target killed while inflicted with this status creates a noxious cloud that spreads the Corrosive effect to others. Despite lacking range, Nebula’s ability to melt enemy health bars is excellent. Nebula’s unique mod is Nano Swarm which harasses nearby enemies with nanomachines, dealing steady Acid damage. The player crafts Nebula using Spiced Bile, dropped by Tal Ratha.
4. Alpha-Omega
Alpha-Omega releases charged energy shots, the weapon’s damage increases with each hit, and its charge time falls. This railgun can shred large groups of enemies, making it more versatile than many weapons in Remnant 2. This Long Gun’s special mod, Beta Ray, brands its target, and brands remain even beyond the enemy’s death. All active brands explode whenever the player swaps their weapon or reloads it. Killing enemies in this way restores the player’s mod power and refills ammo, allowing the player to continue the fight. Getting this weapon requires the Forgotten Memory, which the player receives in exchange for slaying the final boss, Annihilation.
3. Deceit
Unquestionably one of the best boss weapons in the game, Deceit is a Long Gun that shoots extremely accurate shots at a distance. This medium to long-range killer is ideal for players dealing with their enemies from afar. Deceit’s unique mod Ouroboros conjures a trio of sword fragments that circle the player for a brief time. Using a melee attack expends a fragment, causing all attacks from Deceit to count as Weakspot hits. Charge melee attacks expend all fragments simultaneously. Crafting this item requires the Imposter’s Heart, dropped by Faelin.
2. Spectral Blade
Laser swords are some of the coolest weapons in fiction, so it makes sense that Remnant 2 would have one. The Spectral Blade is a devastating melee weapon and easily one of the best boss weapons in the game. The Spectral Blade’s weapon mod is Whirlwind, which creates a whirlwind of slashes when the player performs a Charge attack. These slashes strike all nearby enemies, allowing players to stand their ground even when surrounded. The player will need the Eidolon Shard to craft the weapon, obtained by defeating Sha’Hala: Spectral Guardian of N’Erud.
1. Nightfall
The Nightweaver is a brutal boss, so she should drop the ingredient for a brutal Long Gun. Its base stats aren’t incredible, but its unique mod (Dreadwalker) makes it shine. Activating Dreadwalker shifts the player into the Nightmare Realm. While in this realm, Nightfall turns into a fully automatic weapon with infinite ammo, a boosted rate of fire, and 10% Lifesteal. As if that weren’t enough, the player is much harder to hit in motion. Even though the player cannot use other weapons or skills while benefiting from Dreadwalker, the tradeoff is more than worth it. The player needs the Cursed Dream Silks dropped by the Nightweaver to get this item.
