Travis Kelce has taken a step back recently in order to decide his future in the NFL. However, according to Jason Kelce, that decision might already be made. After a heartbreaking loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 59, Travis has been visibly upset. Kelce had a rough season from Week One, all the way to the Super Bowl. However, Taylor Swift has also been attempting to help her boyfriend cope with the embarrassing loss. Although, the wait might be over soon, as Kelce may have played his last NFL game ever.
According to Jason Kelce, via the Steam Room Podcast, his little brother has already made up his mind. “He already knows what he wants to do,” said Jason. However, despite Jason allegedly knowing what’s to come, the Kansas City Chiefs have given Travis Kelce a March 14th deadline for his decision. The 35-year-old is not getting any younger, even if the retirement is pushed off a few years, how many does Travis really have left in him? The Chiefs seem prepared for either outcome as they await the news on whether or not Kelce will play in the 2025-26 season.
Jason Kelce Speaks Out Before Travis Kelce Reveals His NFL Future
“We’ve already talked about it a little bit, and I’m sure he’s going to go through a process of figuring that out,” Jason said. “We’re very similar people, but we also have different ways of thinking about things. Sometimes I can way overanalyze situations, and my brother has this way of being like, ‘Hey man, you want to play or you don’t want to play. I think he probably, in his heart, already knows what he wants to do. That’s the reality of it.”
The Kansas City Chiefs’ deadline is still weeks away. With that being said, Travis has apparently already made up his mind. There are benefits that come with both choices. If Travis decides to stay at least another season in the NFL, he could become a Super Bowl champion once again. However, if the athlete chooses to retire, he could spend more time with his girlfriend, Taylor Swift. Kelce also has plenty of business ventures outside of football to keep him busy once he hangs up the cleats for good. Although, will Travis be okay with a Super Bowl loss to end his otherwise fantastic career?
Travis Kelce is a competitor and has been his entire NFL career. There seem to be many who think the tight end will not go out on a loss like that. Those fans just may have some merit.
