Unleash the Tribes of Midgard
An epic Viking adventure awaits, as the prophecy of Ragnarök approaches the village that harbors the Seed of Yggdrasil, the tree that embodies the world and everlasting life. The daring villagers, known as the Tribes of Midgard, must band together to stop the evil forces attacking their land as towering giants slowly approach their home and the ancient tree.
Being developed by Norsfell, a team based out of Montreal, Canada, the Tribes of Midgard will center around a solo player or up to 10 others that will build, defend, forge, and evolve their bases, characters, and legends of Norse Mythology. In order to prepare yourself for Ragnarök, you must venture out into Midgard to gather resources, discover relics, and battle enemies to advance your progress for a more promising ending for your tribe.
With your recovered items that you collect from your journeys, you can build structures to get you to higher or lower grounds, construct defenses against oncoming enemy forces, and improvements for your village the longer you thrive in Tribes of Midgard.
The development team over at Norsfell are excited for players to come together and battle, with founder and CEO Julian Maroda commenting, “We’ve been building Tribes of Midgard with the community from the start and have big plans for the game.” With Sony’s support, the team’s vision can be fully realized to bring a thrilling experience for the next generation of gaming.
The trailer presents the action title with the endless violent encounters of Helheim’s wicked fiends, with giants approaching the village as you and nine other warriors seek to stop Ragnarök. The gameplay teaser features all of the aforementioned mechanics, with RPG elements infused with bright animations and several abilities and powers that can dominate against the dangers that invade Midgard.
Tribes of Midgard will arrive in 2021 for the PlayStation 5 and PC through Steam. The title will be published by Gearbox Publishing (We Happy Few, Risk of Rain 2, Trover Saves the Universe).
