Trevor Noah’s opening monologue at the 2025 Grammys has MAGA fans furious. The comedian hosted the iconic award ceremony for the fifth time in a row on Sunday night, and he didn’t hesitate to take a dig at the Commander-in-Chief, Donald Trump.

The former Daily Show host referenced the current overwhelming anti-immigration policies at Los Angeles’s Crypto.com Arena. While explaining how Grammy winners are determined by the 13,000 members of the Recording Academy, Noah joked that the vote included “20 million illegal immigrants.” He then later added:

“There’s been a few changes in Washington. So I’m gonna enjoy tonight because this may be the last time I get to host anything in this country.”

The late-night show host’s joke comes a week after Trump enforced a new immigration policy of mass deportations of “illegals.” Nationwide, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials are conducting raids, arresting thousands of migrants.

The South African native also made light of the ongoing tariff wars initiated by Trump against countries like Canada and China, using Beyoncé tour tickets as a comparison. “I will say, though, Beyoncé. There’s tariffs. We can’t afford a new tour, right? Maple syrup is about to be $50,” he mocked.

Unfortunately, Trevor Noah’s digs at Trump didn’t get the intended reaction, as the audience of A-listers seemed uncomfortable. A viral clip from the ceremony showed rapper Doechii, who took home the award for Best Rap Album, rolling her eyes at Noah’s remarks. However, famous faces weren’t the only ones put off by the comments.

MAGA fans online attacked the 40-year-old, slamming him for disrespecting the highest office in the nation. Some events urged President Trump to make the comedian’s joke about hosting the Grammys for the “last time” a reality.

“Well, if Trevor is here illegally, then yeah, it may be his last gig here in the United States. Hollywood elitists should be afraid,” warned one user.

“The only way liberal Democrats can stay relevant is to keep bringing up President Trump,” noted another MAGA fan.

“Deport Trevor Noah. Send him back,” declared a third fan, while another added, “You just canceled yourself, fool.”

“Is Trevor a US citizen? If not, then you have no right to say anything that happens in the US,” a fifth comment read.

It is no news that Trevor Noah has been outspoken about his political views but has never identified as either left or right. However, during his seven-year stint as the Daily Show host, the comedian often made Trump the butt of the joke. It seems Trump’s fans have had enough.
