So you’re ready to go to the next region of Dragon’s Dogma 2, crossing into Battahl. However, the game has cleverly put up a thorny barrier between you and this goal. Ahead of you stands a massive portcullis and checkpoint with armed guards. But have no fear: despite being asked for a permit, there’s a hilarious way to cross the border illegally in Dragon’s Dogma 2!
How to Cross the Border Gate Illegally in Dragon’s Dogma 2
Wait for a horse-drawn buggy with a cabin to approach the gate. Climb up some nearby rocks, and jump over to the roof of this buggy. This lets you stand on the carriage yet the driver won’t stop, and the gate will open for you, letting you through.
I tested it myself to great amusement and earned the “I’m In” achievement for crossing the border illegally. If this is your first time crossing the border in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you get a second achievement, “Across the Border”. Beware though: this aggros nearby guards, so start running once you cross!
Non-Buggy Method to Cross the Border Illegally in Dragon’s Dogma 2
At the base of the road just outside Checkpoint Rest Town, there’s a path leading northwest past the checkpoint. This takes you on a significantly longer journey but is placed as the intended method to get this achievement.
Bring plenty of survival gear, as this path is tricky to navigate. However, when you reach a fork further west, there’s a road south leading to a Sphinx shrine. Mark this for later, as it’s the second in a set of riddle quests with hefty rewards!
How to Cross the Border Legally
The more boring, expensive option is to purchase the Beastren Mask at Ibrahim’s Scrap Store for 8000G. Wear this, then speak to the guards in front of the gate, and they’ll ask for your pass. Provided you’ve completed his story-related quests in Vernworth, you’ll get a Beastren-only permit to pass the gate.
