Unrecord blew the lid off the internet when its gameplay was revealed; the first-person shooter from Studio DRAMA is almost reinventing what a video game is, especially what a shooter can be. Ever since the game’s first trailer launched, people were in awe and disbelief over its hyper-realistic gameplay that even veteran gamers took a while to recognize. Unrecord has gotten well over 10 million views on all the different social media and video platforms, and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down. The game takes the approach of using a body cam as the only way of experiencing its world, something no other game in the past has attempted. Unrecord looked so realistic that people started to call it fake, and so the developers had to prove that not only is Unrecord a real game, but the gameplay slice wasn’t too limiting either.
Unrecord Is So Realistic That Devs Had To Prove It Was a Game
DRAMA confirmed that the game is being developed using Unreal Engine 5 and was captured on a PC using keyboard and mouse controls. The post also said that Unrecord is not fake and will eventually release as an actual playable video game. The game already has a Steam page where you can wishlist it.
Of course, with each new leap in gaming fidelity, the games in question are always subject to controversy over their realism and how these could affect the players of these games. But that wasn’t all; another matter, which is slightly grayer, morally speaking, is that the game will show police brutality and possibly discrimination. And as expected, most of these claims and concerns are groundless and will only be confirmed or denied once Unrecord actually comes out.
Unrecord is not only a great achievement by indie studio DRAMA but is also a testament to the massive leap made by Unreal Engine 5 from Epic. With future games such as the next Cyberpunk and Witcher titles being made using the same engine, it seems our minds will be blown quite often.
