A Utah motorcyclist had an unpleasant encounter with a driver on a major roadway. The pair eventually pulled over to talk things out, but the motorcyclist quickly sensed trouble when the driver approached. Unfortunately, his instincts proved correct, as the confrontation soon turned violent, although thankfully, nobody appeared to be seriously hurt.
Elijah (@elijahhboone) is a motorcyclist who was enjoying the open Utah roads recently. While riding, a driver cut him off and ran him off the side of the road. Elijah was able to keep his motorcycle upright and pull off to the side of the road. The driver of the pickup truck that ran him off the road pulled over, too. The pickup truck driver starts approaching him immediately.
Elijah yells out at the driver, “I’m going the [expletive] speed limit! Why are you speeding behind me like that?” The driver continues walking toward him aggressively, and it’s at this point that you can see he has brass knuckles on his fingers. To make matters worse, he’s still wearing the work vest he was driving home in! The pickup driver demands, “Something else you want to say? One more thing?”
Elijah starts speaking and the man raises his hand with the brass knuckles and takes a hard swing at him. Backing up, Elijah asks, “Are you [expletive] kidding me?!” The man answers that he’s going to “break his jaw” for flipping him off on the road. Elijah gets away safely but says in the caption to his video that he walked away with damage to his helmet. Why? He protected himself from the brass knuckle blow with his helmet.
Now, Elijah shows this video as a warning to other riders on the road. He says, “DON’T CONFRONT PEOPLE ON THE ROAD. You never know who you’re dealing with or what they’re capable of.” He adds to all his fellow watchers, “Your life is worth more than proving a point.”
Commenters immediately reacted, who were shocked by the assault they witnessed on Elijah’s video. Many pointed out the construction company this driver works for, saying, “Come get yo guy!” Another commenter pointed out, “That’s a felony assault charge with them brass knuckles.” As one commenter suggested, “Always keep your distance bro. Never walk up on them like that.”
Ultimately, the confrontation was another reminder of how quickly road rage can turn an everyday disagreement into something far more dangerous. While commenters had plenty to say about reckless driving, many were particularly alarmed by how rapidly the situation escalated once both men stopped their vehicles, especially with a weapon involved.
