The Secrets of Gloomrot update added new resources and items to craft in V Rising like Blood Merlot. Before you are able to make the item, you must unlock the blueprint for this new tool. Our guide will explain everything you need to do to find the blueprint, how to craft Blood Merlot, and how you can use it.
Unlocking Blood Merlot Recipe in V Rising
Blood Merlot is a new item you can craft, but you’ll first need the blueprint. To find this, go to the Brighthaven Vineyards in Silverlight Hills. In this area, you will find and battle the boss Baron du Bouchon, the Sommelier. He’s a new Level 70 V Blood Boss. So, your character must be at a higher level if you want to succeed.
Once you defeat him, you will unlock the V Rising Blood Merlot recipe. You will also gain access to the Barrel Disguise recipe, the Sanguine Coil ability, and the pendant known as the Blood Merlot Amulet.
How To Craft Blood Merlot
If you want to craft Blood Merlot, linger around the Brighthaven Vineyards. The area contains plenty of the resource you need: Sacred Grapes.
The exact recipe for Blood Merlot is listed below:
- x60 Sacred Grapes + x1 Empty Glass Bottle
Gathering the Sacred Grapes is not always a simple task. The area tends to have harpies. So, be prepared to fight for your grapes. If you need to craft the Empty Glass Bottle, use x4 Glass at the Alchemy Table. It will net you a single bottle, but it is all you need to craft one Blood Merlot.
How To Use Blood Merlot
In V Rising, Blood Merlot is a more potent form of the Blood Potion. You can use it to tap a prisoner on blood. The act will cost you anywhere from 25% to 50% of your health. You will also see an increase in misery by 3% to 15%.
As mentioned before, defeating Baron du Bouchon the Sommelier also unlocks the Blood Merlot Amulet. You can craft this at the Artisan Table for x8 God Jewelry and x8 Spectral Dust. The Amulet is a Level 21 pendant. When worn, it grants you +23 Spell Power alongside a +15% reduced Blood Drain rate.
You can also use the Blood Merlot Amulet in other recipes. Use it in the following recipes, all of which you craft at the Artisan Table:
- Amulet of the Arch-Warlock: x1 Blood Merlot Amulet + x4 Flawless Saphire + x12 Power Core
- Amulet of the Blade Master: x1 Blood Merlot Amulet + x4 Flawless Topaz + x12 Power Core
- Amulet of the Crimson Commander: x1 Blood Merlot Amulet + x4 Flawless Ruby + x12 Power Core
