Turns out that being a picky eater in a survival game can literally save your character’s life. At least that’s the case in V Rising where you control a vampire. The quality of blood on which you feast dictates what ‘class’ you assume in the game or what buffs you get. It can practically define your build. Hence, here’s a V Rising blood types table to help you determine which ones to pick and be picky about.

In order to change blood types, all you have to do is ‘Feed’ on a victim. The ‘Feed’ command should appear when the victim is in low health or is unaware of your presence. Feeding on a certain target will make you assume their blood type. So if you already have a blood type you want, don’t just haplessly feed or it will get replaced.

In combat, you should be careful not to accidentally kill a victim whose blood you want to consume. Moreover, every victim has varying percentages of their blood quality or purity; higher percentages are better since you unlock more buffs.

Also, take note that percentages are not additive, and feeding on the same blood type with a lower percentage than the one you currently have will replace the higher percentage blood type. Think before you feed.

Rogue is a good all-around blood type if you want to stick to one blood type to avoid disruptive changes. Whatever you do, avoid reverting yourself back to the Frail blood type by eating rats to heal. Or if you had to do it to survive, just don’t tell the other vampires.
