Nintendo has added yet another Pokemon to the universe with its reveal of Volcanion, the third mythical Pokemon of Generation 6. The first fire and water type Pokemon ever, Volcanion is an event-exclusive creature, much like Diancie and Hoopa.
Volcanion is a steam Pokemon, which explains how it can be both a fire and a water type. According to the official description, it “create[s] steam within its body, expelling explosive shock waves and boiling steam from the arms on its back. The power is said to be great enough to blow away an entire mountain, gouging out the earth and changing the shape of the land.”
Here are some images of how Volcanion looks in Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire:
Its ability is Water Absorb, which means that if it is attacked by a water-type move its HP will be restored by 25% of its max HP. Nintendo has not provided information as to how the 721st Pokemon can be obtained, although they have promised more details soon.

Since fans of the Pokemon series have been speculating about these mythical Pokemon for about a year now, this reveal doesn’t come as much of a surprise. However, now that Diancie, Hoopa and Volcanion are officially revealed, perhaps this means that the elusive new Pokemon game can also be released. Pokemon Z has been rumored as the next big game for a long time, with Nintendo itself saying little to either confirm or deny the suspicions.
What do you think? Are you excited to get Volcanion for yourself? How long will you wait for a possible Pokemon Z? Let us know in the comments below.
