A Washington woman ordered food via Uber Eats, and her driver apparently delivered the food to her door. She, however, didn’t find anything, so she decided to ask questions. As a result, the driver and a random man dismissed her, saying she had taken the food and was lying about it.
The woman is Indielio Kontos (Indie), also known as astoldbyindie on TikTok. She usually comments on a variety of topics, including celebrity drama and politics. The clip in question became one of her most-viewed posts. It garnered 167,700 views, 27,600 likes, and more than 400 comments.
The Washington woman detailed that she had ordered food from Uber Eats. Apparently, the food was eventually delivered, and the driver took a picture of it outside her door. The photo, however, didn’t show her door number.
Quickly, Indie opened her door, but, according to her, she found no food whatsoever. She was so quick that, in fact, the Uber Eats driver hadn’t left the building. So, she called the driver and said, “My food’s not here. I think you delivered it to the wrong door.”
The driver returned to her door and knocked. When she came out again, she saw two men: the driver and another man who, apparently, worked at the building and was vouching for the driver.
Accused Of Stealing The Food
While the driver insisted he had delivered the food, Indie countered that there was no food at all. He showed her the picture, but she asked him why he didn’t include the door number in the photo. Then, according to her, the man said, “It’s the right door,” and she believed he said it accusatorily, implying she had taken the food.
Suddenly, the other man, who said he was a “helpful neighbor,” defended the driver, saying he knew the driver had delivered it. When questioned, however, he admitted he never saw the actual delivery.
“So I actually don’t care what you have to say,” the Washington woman said, and the “helpful neighbor” left.
In the end, the driver walked off, and Indie called Uber. They were not amused after hearing what had happened and gave her a full refund. Finally, when she walked to the front desk, the doorman told her that both the driver and the “helpful neighbor” had said she had stolen the food.
The Internet Is Outraged
The video sparked multiple responses.
Many users began theorizing what had happened. One viewer said, “The helpful neighbor has the food.” Another one suggested, “You need a ring camera.”
Others urged Indie to escalate the situation further. One viewer said, “File a complaint with building management.” Another one added, “I would reach out to your property manager.”
With food delivery incidents being as popular as they are, it is no wonder that many people reacted to Indie’s clip. Should something similar happen in the future, they are sure to tune back, all thanks to her narration.
