Picking the right a clan and race will be the most important part of your Roblox Project Mugetsu journey. While the ubiquitous gacha system defines your clan, the choice of race is up to you. Playing as a Quincy or Soul Reaper won’t just dictate the looks of your character but also their skills. Properly choosing the best race for your playstyle in Project Mugetsu will affect your gameplay, so review our tier list first before you do.
Roblox Project Mugetsu: The Best Race Tier List
[Updated on May 8 – Added details from the latest update that nerfs and buffs playable races]
As seen above, this is our race tier list:
- S Tier: Soul Reaper.
- A Tier: Quincy and Fullbringer.
- B Tier: Hollow.
Truth be told, after you have reached max level and unlocked all your skills, all races are on equal terms. At that point, it’s mostly a “skill issue” problem. Because of that, this tier list will mostly talk about how much effort you need to realize your chosen race’s full potential. Both from progressing through levels or unlocking skills.
S-Tier Project Mugetsu Race: Soul Reaper
Becoming a Soul Reaper and unlocking its powers is the easiest task out of all four races. All you have to do is just meditate and defeat your Zanpakuto’s spirit. Then you can unlock Vizard power which further boosts your toolset and skills, including a Cero and 40% damage reduction bonus. Soul Reaper’s progression is so straightforward and OP the player base often asks if the developer team is biased towards the race.
A-Tier: Quincy and Fullbringer
Quincy
The rival to the Soul Reaper was considered the best race in Project Mugetsu at some point. They have the best skills in terms of range with devastating stun-locking potential to boot. But their standing fell off after the April 2024 update thanks to the 40 Arrows limit.
Unfortunately, compared to Soul Reaper and Fullbringer, transforming into Quincy takes a bit of luck. Since there is a 20% chance you will fail the transformation quest. Not to mention that unlocking Vollstandig is somewhat of a chore too; running an obby and answering obscure trivia isn’t what I can call fun.
Fullbringer
Fullbringer players will quickly realize their moves won’t be as fancy as their matches. Their tool is quite limited compared to the other races; basically, you only have Shun Shun Rika and Brazo at your disposal. But that means reaching its full potential can be relatively faster and deadlier in PvP. A Fullbringer can deal much more damage than the other races with shorter combo strings.
Becoming one and getting the Fullbring power is not complicated as well. Defeat four Human players, get to Level 150, then get killed by Hollow players five times. Yeah the last part is kind of weird, but hey, you can do it by AFKing or using another account.
B-Tier Race: Hollow / Arrancar
There is nothing inherently wrong with Hollow or Arrancar race power in Project Mugetsu. Once you have reached around Level 50, Vasto Lorde is actually extremely powerful compared to its peers. You can easily farm mobs and hunt players with a simple combination of Cero and M1s, potentially dealing up to 1,000 damage. Arrancar can also stand toe-to-toe with other races, even if Soul Reaper’s Vizard got you beat in terms of Cero usage.
But the biggest drawback with playing a Hollow is the exceptionally slow grind. Defeating enemies isn’t enough, you also have to consume body parts to upgrade your ranks. Then, if you fail some of the steps, the progress will be reset and you need to retry one whole step all over again! It’s just an exercise in patience playing as a Hollow to reach the same level as other races.
For the reasons listed above, Soul Reaper or Shinigami is the best race you can choose in Roblox Project Mugetsu. Before you decide to go all in as a Soul Reaper though, remember that you cannot change race for free. You must spend 350 Robux or use the rare Legendary Orb, which has a 1% drop from bosses.
Roblox Project Mugetsu is available now for PC, mobile devices, PlayStation, and Xbox.
