You can’t be Ichigo, but you can still don the black robes as if you were Strawberry himself. Taking up the sword of a Shinigami is just one option, however. One reason Roblox spin-off Type Soul is such a great Bleach adaptation is the choices it gives you. Want to be the bad guy and walk the black path of the Arrancar? You can. Want to thumb your nose at the Soul Reapers and Arrancar alike as a Quincy? You can do that too. With such different powers and progression, each race plays differently, which raises a question. You’re a human for a few fleeting moments, and then you’re torn away from the mortal world. Now you’re faced with a choice: should you become an Arrancar, Soul Reaper, or Quincy? With nerfs and buffs changing the meta landscape, the frontrunner has shifted. Here’s what we consider the best (and worst) race in Type Soul:

| Arrancar | A | Fantastic True Resurrections, the first Mythical power in the game, and a new Legendary weapon make Arrancar the best race in Type Soul. Arrancar also benefits a great deal from the Hollow progression grind reduction. |
| Soul Reaper | B | Though the Shinigami were spared in the last round of nerfs, Soul Reapers can’t touch the best qualities of the Arrancar. |
| Quincy | C | The hard nerfing of Quincy Kido leaves the white-clad faction in a rough spot. In some ways, they’re close to Shinigami or even ahead, but their PvP potential is arguably the weakest for now. |
The Arrancar Advantage
Adding Bloodedge (and its two critical attacks) to the already great Arrancar weapon list makes Arrancar an easy pick for the best race. Great Segundas and True Res abilities put the Hollows ahead of the other races by a significant margin. That said, the next wave of buffs and nerfs could always shift the balance. The Soul Reapers and Quincies will both likely get buffed in some areas, but even if it’s not enough to restore Quincy to its former greatness, that’s okay. As long as Quincy isn’t so painful to play, that’ll be a win for Type Soul players. A little more Yhwach, a little less Quilge Opie, please.
