It came quicker than expected, but Ark: Survival Ascended is here and fans are thrilled. Interestingly, Studio Wildcard has decided to hold off on the console release for a little while. This has console players anxiously awaiting the game’s release, but we are here to ease your worries. Read on to learn when exactly Ark: Survival Ascended will be released onconsole, along with some other important info.
When is Ark Ascended Coming Out For PS5 and Xbox Series X?
As mentioned previously, the game was released for PC on October 25, 2023. Console players, however, have been given a release window of November 2023. It is a bummer that console players have to wait longer, but one month really isn’t all that much. Besides, the game is still in early access, and will probably remain that way until at least mid-2024.
The release of Ark: Survival Ascended has gamers everywhere excited to dive back into the franchise, but let’s keep a certain distinction clear. This game is an entirely separate entity from Ark 2, which is set to launch at the end of 2024. Instead, Ark: Survival Ascended is a sort of remake/remaster of its predecessor.
What is Different About Ark: Survival Ascended?
The most immediately obvious difference about the remake is the huge leap in graphical fidelity. The game looks phenomenal, and the lighting feels genuinely next-generation. However, that is far from the only upgrade. Better enemy AI, an upgraded UI, improved sound design, and tons of gameplay tweaks. Add the fact that Studio Wildcard managed to keep split-screen as a feature and you can see why hype for this game is so high.
When Ark: Survival Ascended comes out officially it will almost certainly put an end to the original. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing, however, and we are glad to have something to keep us satisfied during the long wait to Ark 2.
