While the first phase of Season of Discovery in WoW Classic was great, many wonder when Phase 2 of SoD is coming to the game. Given how players were only able to reach level 25, many are eager to level up their characters further and find more useful runes to make fun builds. Since the game has shown its plans for 2024, including the ones for the retail version, many gamers are sharpening their weapons, cooking some food, and assembling their guild mates for the next big adventure in Azeroth.
When Will WoW SoD Phase Launch?
The release date for SoD Phase 2 in WoW Classic hasn’t been confirmed yet. The developers claim it’ll arrive in the Winter of 2024. This could mean anywhere between December to the first months of the next year. However, there are some hints that point to a release date after January 11, 2024. According to the 2024 Roadmap, Season of Discovery Phase 2 will launch after the release of the Ruby Sanctum raid in WotLK Classic, which is set for January 11, 2024. This makes us believe that Phase 2 will arrive a few days or weeks later.
Given how intricate the new systems for SoD in WoW Classic are, it’s only normal we don’t have a release date yet for Phase 2. Still, many players might want to know it sooner rather than later to start preparing. The second phase brings a new leveling bracket up to level 40, new runes, and a Gnomeregan Raid. Besides that, it seems there’ll be a new PvP event for those eager to face other players.
Overall, Season of Discovery feels like WoW Classic 2.0, which many were asking for. Hopefully, the developers will keep doing seasons like this one. With so many things to discover and fight, Azeroth feels newer than ever, even if we visited it decades ago.
