Klawf is a simple Pokémon. It looks like a crab, and it’s pretty straightforward to use. If you want a low-maintenance companion in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, they’re perfect. But where are they? Well, they hang around one area, so they aren’t too difficult to track down. Just follow our guide to find and catch Klawf in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
Find and Catch Klawf in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
Klawf is one of the latest Pokémon introduced to the game. A Rock-type, Klawf does not have an evolutionary path. So, what you have is what you get unless you improve their stats or change up their moves with a TM.
If you want Klawf, you will more than likely encounter them above Level 15. So, plan accordingly when you’re on the hunt for one of these.
To find and catch Klawf in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, head to the following area:
- South Province (Area Three)
As the Pokédex mentions, Klawfs like to cling to the faces of rocks. However, you can find them just loitering around rocky biomes.
The great thing about Klawf is that they are just about impossible to miss. This is because, in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Klawf is a massive one to find. In fact, this behemoth of a crab just may startle you the first time you come across it.

When you do get Klawf in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, they are a robust Rock-type to have in your party. Take a look at their stats below:
- HP: 70
- Attack: 100
- Defense: 115
- Special Attack: 35
- Special Defense: 55
- Speed: 75
As you can see, Klawf can take quite a hit with such a high base Defense stat. Even its base Attack stat is impressive. Seeing that you can encounter Klawfs as high as Level 20, it stands to reason that they won’t be straightforward to beat with low-level Pokémon.
Once you do catch Klawf in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you can freely use them as your main Rock type if you don’t have one you use all the time. They’re reliable in battle, and more importantly, they’re fun to look at if you use them for “Let’s Go.”
