First Encounter With the Dammon in BG3 – Emerald Grove First Act

Your first encounter with Dammon will occur shortly after you start your adventures in the northwestern part of Emerald Grove. But this is only possible after you have recruited Karlach as your companion and collected some Infernal Iron.
