It’s impossible to forget the fearsome majesty of the Lands Between in Elden Ring. However, the game is famously equal parts beautiful and dangerous, especially if you have the wrong equipment. If you’re looking for a distinctive two-handed sword, the Flamberge is a welcome sight in Elden Ring, as long as you can find it.

The Flamberge is at Caelid’s Redmane Castle in Elden Ring, in the southeastern portion behind the castle walls. If you’ve already reached the Chamber Outside the Plaza Site of Grace, go south past the flamethrowers to reach a large set of steps. Go up these steps through a door and inside you will climb a ladder. At the top, you’ll see a Pumpkin Head enemy next to a corpse. This corpse has the Flamberge.

Defeat the Pumpkin Head, and consider a ranged pre-emptive strike, as you’ll be outside their aggro range when you reach the top of the ladder. They’re also incredibly easy to bait and juke, but they still hit hard, so play it smart and stay nimble.

Alternately, if you’ve not reached this area’s Site of Grace, you can go directly southeast from the main gate on the northwest corner of the castle. It won’t be a challenge for you if you’re coming back to this area after having completed it. However, depending on how far you’ve come before this point, you could have both the Misbegotten Warrior and the Crucible Knight waiting for you. The Chamber Outside the Plaza Site of Grace is just to the right of the doorway before this fight.

Is the Flamberge Good in Elden Ring?

This is up to the player and their chosen build, as the weapon’s base scaling is for Strength and Dexterity. It’s a Greatsword, but not demanding for newer players, and you only need 15 STR and 14 DEX to equip it. However, as a relatively early weapon that does decent heavy damage along with inflicting Bleed, it has enormous potential.

Bleed is among the best status ailments you can inflict in Elden Ring, and the Flamberge has it naturally. The more you hit enemies with this, the more likelihood of massive chunks of their HP being stripped away.

If you have the Seppuku Ashes of War, you can increase this Bleed potential instantly. Sword Dance with the Blood modifier for a quick heavy attack, stacking multiple hits with extra Bleed. This is before even factoring in how you can smith the weapon to your liking and needs.

The Flamberge may not be as insanely unique as other Elden Ring weapons, but it has one of the best abilities given to it before any mods are added. You should consider this weapon while getting ready for the upcoming DLC!
