Finding a Garnet Gem Rock in Disney Dreamlight Valley
This article is over 3 years old and may contain outdated information.

Like Rubies, Garnets are a Gem in Disney Dreamlight Valley that players need to make specific recipes or fulfill particular quest objectives. For instance, during “The Shy Little Robot,” Dreamers are striving to bring Wall-E back to the Village, and Scrooge McDuck thinks that a Fire Extinguisher is the perfect item to coax the little robot. Typically, players will use Star Coins to buy items from Scrooge’s shop, but Fire Extinguisher can only be purchased using Garnets. Therefore, it is essential for Dreamers to know where Garnets are located if they want to unlock Wall-E and progress its questline.

Garnet Locations in Dreamlight Valley

Fortunately, newcomers to Disney Dreamlight Valley do not need to travel too far to find Garnets for Wall-E’s Fire Extinguisher or other activities that require the Gem. Garnets, including their shiny variants, can only be mined from the mineral nodes found in the Peaceful Meadow and Plaza, the two starting biomes of the Valley.

The Royal Pickaxe is one of the primary tools that players will receive during the tutorial portion of their playthrough. Accordingly, they can use this tool to harvest the mining nodes scattered around the borders of Peaceful Meadow and Plaza. For reference, Map Genie’s interactive map of Dreamlight Valley shows that six mineral nodes can be found along the northern border of Peaceful Meadow. As for the Plaza, three mining spots can be found on the western wall, and two are located on the eastern wall.

Disney Dreamlight Valley players might notice that only some of the mineral nodes they mine in Peaceful Meadow and Plaza will drop Garnets. This is because the spawn rate for Garnet Gems is wholly dependent on RNG. If players find a blank, black mineral node with nothing on its surface, there is a slight chance that Garnets can be mined from the node. On the other hand, if a node spawns with red gemstone chunks sticking out of its surface, this change in the rock’s appearance indicates that a Garnet is a guaranteed drop. To ensure players collect the most Garnets during mining runs, they should bring along a Villager with the Mining Progression.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
