This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

Baldur’s Gate 3 faithfully simulates a DND session, and we all know those sessions can sometimes get really silly, like using the Speak With Animals spell to talk to cats. There are several cats that you can speak to in Baldur’s Gate 3 by either using the Level 1 Divination Spell or the potion that allows you to understand the animals, but if you are looking for one specific fluffy white cat in Act Three, check out the guide below to find out where to find Myshka in BG3.

(Updated on August 13, 2024 – Fact-checked and fixed inconsistencies).

Myshka is a white cat with slightly longer fur and blue eyes that you will find during the third act in the titular city of Baldur’s Gate 3. The talkative furry little guy can be found near the Bonecloak’s Apothecary in the Lower City.

Once you find Myshka, you can attempt to pet it with an Animal Handling DC 15 roll or try talking to it. If you have the Speak With Animals spell that allows you to comprehend and communicate with beasts, you can use the Intelligence option in dialogue to “Try to decipher the cat’s strange speech.” If you succeed, you will find out that the Myshka is using a cat dialect called “Mriaer” (yes, the cats have different dialects in BG3!) and is asking you if you are his mother. The offered answers will be really hilarious:

1. No. But I do know someone in want of a cat companion…
2. I might know a mother for you. But you’ll have to pitch yourself first.
3. It’s me, my son.
4. Leave.

Of course, you should choose “It’s me, my son.” to get Myshka to start following you. So, there you have it! You are not Myshka’s mother; he will follow you at least while you stay in the Lower City area.

If you liked this encounter with Myshka, you should try finding other animals to speak with in Baldur’s Gate 3. Conversations with dogs are often fun, but cats are still the most hilarious, and you can even talk with frogs and rats.
