Theyโ€™re easy to overlook.

The Can Opener location is pretty easy to get to in Sons of the Forest. The only difficult part is figuring out where it is. Since the Can Opener is a relatively small item, it can be overlooked rather easily and thereโ€™s actually more than one location you can find it in. However, once youโ€™ve picked up one Can Opener, you wonโ€™t be able to see the others that spawn. The easiest way to get one early on is to pay attention to the spawn closest to crash zones.

The first of the two locations where you can find a Can Opener in Sons of the Forest is near the Beach Crash Zone. Looking out on the peninsula of beach that juts out into the water, you might notice some rocks along the coast. Wander through the rocky waterline on the North side of the area until you find a small area that holds loads of different types of food, wine, Oysters, and even watches. Among the loot will be the first Can Opener.

If you spawned in the Snow Crash Zone, then youโ€™re in luck as well. There is a Can Opener nearby that you can grab quite easily without having to venture into any terrifying caves or take on any enemies. From the Crash Zone, follow the river up the mountain until you reach the frozen lake. From here, youโ€™ll notice some sleds, a few skeletons, and a couple of red tents. The red tent to the right of the frozen lake thatโ€™s surrounded by green bags and yellow buckets is the one we want to focus on. On the ground in front of a cluster of three green bags will be the Can Opener.

Once you get your hands on the Can Opener, youโ€™ll be free to use it whenever youโ€™d like. While it doesnโ€™t appear in your hand and isnโ€™t equipable, itโ€™s still very much usable. You just need to open up your inventory by pressing the I key on your keyboard, then combine the Can Opener with a can of food, then select the gear cog to open it up.

Sons of the Forest is now available on PC.

Jordan is an experienced fantasy writer who spends hours behind her laptop, and lost in the pages of a book. She strives to be a successful gaming blogger, and has no complaint about the hours of game time she used to increase her knowledge of all things โ€œgeekโ€. She primarily writes gaming articles and fantasy novels. Ark: Survival Evolved is a favorite, along with Diablo 3, Warframe and Minecraft lately, though you canโ€™t forget the good old Magic the Gathering card game! Writing about games truly gives her joy as it gives her another perspective to look at games from, a reason to really look into the mechanics of the game.
