We’ve loved her since Sex Education. But British actress Aimee Lou Wood — and her adorable two front teeth — are breakout stars of The White Lotus season 3. According to Wood on a recent Jonathan Ross Show appearance, her teeth have received lots of online love since White Lotus season 3 premiered. According to Wood, her social media feed celebrates her distinctive look, and there’s one part of the Aimee Lou Wood teeth-appreciation craze that makes her especially proud.
In her March appearance on Ross’ BBC One show, Wood, who plays Chelsea on HBO’s White Lotus season 3, says she can’t believe the impact her teeth are having. The Americans, she says, “Are all being lovely.” But Wood says, she too sees videos in her Instagram feed of orthodontists “analyzing my teeth,” diagnosing what’s wrong with them.
In an age of pearly white veneers in Hollywood, Wood’s teeth do look unusual, but they’re real, Wood has said in the past, and well, the British famously have crooked teeth — she just chose not to change them.
In February 2025 she told On Demand Entertainment her teeth could prevent her from ever playing an American. ” … [N]o Americans have my teeth,” Wood said, “they just don’t. I’d have to get veneers.”
On Jonathan Ross, Wood says the orthodontists she sees online speculate what caused her enlarged incisors. “I don’t know what it is,” she adds. But, she says they conclude, “We don’t think she should change a thing.” She says, “It feels like a real full-circle moment after being bullied for my teeth forever.” She adds, “Now people are clapping in an audience because I’ve got these ‘gnashers’.” Some are even now saying Wood’s all-natural look could usher in a new era of less cosmetic surgery in Hollywood.
Back in Thailand, where White Lotus season 3 is set, Chelsea awaits her mysterious boyfriend Rick Hatchett’s return from Bangkok, where he’s confronted the man he says killed his father — or did he?
As is usual with The White Lotus, speculation about which character will be killed off in the season finale of The White Lotus is rampant as the season finale approaches on April 6. Let’s hope it’s not fan-favorite Chelsea, but if it is, we feel certain we’ll see more of Wood and her teeth on our screens in the future.
