After Itto and Navia ruled the Geo character landscape, it is nice to see Chiori arriving in the 4.5 banners of Genshin Impact. However, while her design is fantastic, her kit needs to be improved in many ways. Furthermore, the Version’s second phase features some of the game’s best support characters, which might make Travelers skip the new resident from Inazuma. And if that wasn’t enough, the Chronicled Wish banner makes deciding even more difficult. So, should you spend your hard-earned Primogems in this update or save them for later?
Who is the Best Character in Genshin Impact’s 4.5 Banners?
After Chiori’s kit and gameplay presentation for Genshin Impact 4.5, many fans began to doubt whether adding this character would be ideal for their teams. This is because Chiori seems to be a character designed for a specific niche. Chiori is a sub-DPS, and she can generate exceptional damage but only for mono-Geo teams; otherwise, Chiori would lose a large percentage of damage. Besides, Geo’s available characters don’t synergize well with Chiori, which baffles many Travelers. She also does not work properly as a battery or for Geo elemental reactions.
Accompanying Chiori in the new banners, we have Arataki “Numero Uno” Itto. No doubt this Oni is one of the best DPS of the game, the king of the mono-Geo teams, but he also works well with other elements. Besides, 4-star characters like Goru, Noelle, and even Fischl are excellent Sub-DPS for Itto. So you can see that despite having a newcomer to the game, Itto still excels in everything.
Also, remember that during Genshin Impact 4.5, the Chronicled Wish Banner will debut with several Mondstadt characters, including Albedo. This alchemist is similar to Chiori; both are sword users of the same element and rarity. Chiori has significantly better damage than Albedo, but Albedo is more flexible. He also has the advantage that players can guarantee which character they can get in the Chronicled banner. Or if you are a veteran player, you may already have this Geo member because he has appeared several times as a promotional character.
Albedo is not the first choice of many players for their teams, but his advantage over Chiori is that he is much easier to use. You also don’t need his signature weapon to make it work properly. Above all, Albedo functions better in mono-geo teams with the actual characters. It also benefits that in the Version 4.5 banners, Genshin Impact has the 4-star characters Yunjin and Gorou. If you already have some Geo DPS, your team will be ready. You don’t need Navia or Itto; Ninguang is another excellent option to pair with Albedo.
On the other hand, for phase 2, Neuvillette and Kazuha will be available. Both are excellent characters, so this decision lies in which one might fight your team comps better. Neuvillette is a DPS with excellent mobility on the battlefield or for scouting. But this hydro dragon needs a shielder to prevent his attacks from being interrupted. At the same time, Kazuha is excellent at grouping enemies and applying swirl. In addition to buffing the team, you can use his burst continuously and double jump to explore.
Ultimately, the choice is yours, but we feel the banners of Version 4.5 aren’t the strongest ones Genshin Impact has had. If you want to use the Geo element and have no one, Itto is your best choice. Still, this element isn’t in the best place right now. On the other hand, Kazuha and Neuvillete are great investments, with the former being in almost every composition. If you ask us, we think it is better to wait for the second phase or save Primogems for other characters. But sadly, one thing is for sure: you should not pull for Chiori during the first phase.
