Rihanna is on course to move her lingerie brand Savage X Fenty to greater heights, even if it means handing down the reins as CEO. The entrepreneur and singer co-founded Savage X Fenty in 2018 alongside French Luxury group LVMH and other investors. During its earlier day of launching, the brand offered the finest undergarments, competing with giants like Victoria’s Secret. However, the brand soon expanded to deal with bras, underwear, sleepwear, and loungewear. Today, it has branches in over seven cities, with Rihanna as its frontwoman.
Rihanna’s reign as the CEO of Savage X Fenty has reached its end. In a statement to Vogue Business, the entertainment icon announced her intention to step down as CEO of the multi-billion-dollar company. In her stead, the company would introduce another frontier that would lead them to even greater heights.
Rihanna’s Stepdown After Five Years Is a Business Move Towards Growth
In her statement to Vogue Business, Rihanna delved deeper into her decision to resign as Savage X Fenty’s CEO. While she did not expound more on the reason behind her decision, the star stressed the brand’s intention to keep expanding in ways “that always connect with the consumer.”
In a bid to see that happen, the stakeholders appointed another strong contender in the business world with the attribute of a strong leader focused on fostering business growth and development. Rihanna announced the new CEO as Hillary Super, saying,
“I’m so grateful and excited to welcome Hillary Super as our new CEO — she is a strong leader and is focused on taking the business to an even higher level.”
Rihanna also revealed how beautiful it’s been to watch the brand’s vision topple the industry in the last five years. Knowing their record success was only a stepping stone to greater things, she admittedly looked forward to bigger achievements led by Hillary. Meanwhile, the singer would assume the position of executive chair.
Notably, the incoming Savage X Fenty CEO has a wealth of experience and qualifications to back her new position. She previously worked with Anthropologie as chief executive for four years. Additionally, she upped her skills a notch, contributing to companies like Guess, Old Navy, Gap, and American Eagle in leadership capacities.
