A video circulating on TikTok shows a Florida woman criticizing the Miami-Dade Police Department over how a sexual assault allegation involving a medical procedure was handled.
The video itself does not give the names of the doctors who are being accused of sexually assaulting a woman while she was anasthetized for a cosmetic surgery, reportedly resulting in the need for surgery on her uvula. However, various commentators have named both the suspect and the location of their office.
It is reported that after the woman allegedly went to the doctor to be looked at post-surgery for pain in her groin and in her throat, she claimed that a rape kit was conducted, and they allegedly found evidence of semen.
The woman in the video alleges that officers dismissed the case despite what she describes as sufficient evidence. She explicitly states, “The Miami-Dade Police Department, I will call you out. You stopped the investigation. You closed it. You closed the investigation when there was clear evidence that this woman got [explicit].“
By the end, she speaks directly to the Miami-Dade Police Department, asking for them to answer for this, saying, “Miami Police Department. What do you have to say about this? This is unacceptable.“
Reactions to Woman Shaming Florida Police After Closing the Case
Some commenters questioned how such an incident could occur in a surgical setting. One comment in particular cites the professionalism involved, saying, “what’s absolutely insane is that multiple people had to turn a blind eye or be compliant for this to happen. theres always at MINIMUM 3 people in a surgery, the anesthesiologist, the surgeon and an assistant. they let him get away with it, they[explicit] her just as much as he did. I hope they all lose their jobs.”
Others discussed details they believed identified individuals involved. Fewer responses expressed broader concerns about patient safety and accountability.
One comment was a bit more direct than others concerning potential solutions by saying, “let’s start discrimination against male doctors, male doctors shouldn’t treat anyone but other males.”
The video centers on allegations about both the medical incident and its handling, though the post included no official confirmation or additional details. This video left viewers online shocked, especially given that officers allegedly dismissed the case even after enough evidence was reportedly submitted.
