World of Warcraft Dragonflight‘s next patch is only a few short weeks away. The latest content offering for the longstanding MMO is set to launch this month. Dubbed Seeds of Renewal, this patch is notable for including the first-ever iteration of solo dungeons via NPC followers. However, there is way more to be excited about other than that. WoW Patch 10.2.5 Seeds of Renewal also boasts some story content years in the making and much-needed quality-of-life changes.
WoW Seeds of Renewal Patch Release Date
The WoW Seeds of Renewal patch goes live on January 16. Upon launch, fans will get their first taste of Follower Dungeons. These are Blizzard’s first attempts to allow its players the option to queue into any Dragonflight dungeon on normal difficulty with NPCs instead of other players.
Wow Patch 10.2.5 Additional Content
Blizzard is adding the ability to Dragonride in all old-world continents where flying is available in Seeds of Renewal. This is setting the seeds for the introduction of Dynamic Flight in the next expansion, The War Within, which launches later this year. For now, players can only Dragonride in old zones with mounts currently enabled for the functionality. However, The War Within will add many new mounts to the available options.
In addition to these huge quality-of-life changes, the WoW Seeds of Renewal patch will also introduce new story content where the Worgen finally reclaim their home of Gilneas after it fell to the Forsaken back in 2010’s Cataclysm expansion. Furthermore, the Night Elves will get a new capital city called Bel’ameth after the Horde destroyed Darnassus in 2018’s Battle for Azeroth expansion.
Other things coming your way include new character customizations and an entirely new form of content called Azerorthian Archives. Players will get further lore about Azeroth and the Dragon Isles by participating in activities around Traitor’s Rest for rewards.
The WoW Seeds of Renewal patch is the first content release of many coming in 2024. Blizzard has planned a Dragonflight Season Four for the spring and additional mini-patch releases until the release of The War Within expansion, which is currently set for a late summer release.
