So you want to be a pro wrestler in WWE 2K24? It all starts from learning the full controls of the game. Add some style, go crazy dropping your opponent from the top of a cell, and most importantly, keep the momentum in your favor. Here we guide you to master all the controls and different moves in WWE 2K24.
Basic Movement and Attacks Guide in WWE 2K24
- L-Stick: Directional Movement
- L2/LT (Hold) + L-Stick: Run
- R1/RB: Enter/Exit The Ring
- L1/LB: Pick
- Square/X: Light Attack
- X/A: Heavy Attack
- Circle: Grapple
- Square/X (During Grapple): Light Grapple Attack
- X/A (During Grapple): Heavy Grapple Attack
- Circle/B (During Grapple): Irish Whip
Mastering the movement and running mechanics of WWE 2K24 is crucial. If you learn the distance needed to start a grapple, and the timing to do run-up attacks, the momentum of the match will remain at your hands.
Start by learning how to run, and exiting the ring to buy yourself some time. You could also use the L1/LB control button to pick items from below the ring if the rules allow you to go extreme in WWE 2K24.
As for the attacks, you can start by punching the opponent with Square/X and doing a heavy attack with X/A. If your opponent didn’t block the first move, you can proceed by performing a combo; mixing the three attack buttons to deal damage to your target.
If you want to do grappling moves, then the Circle/B button is your starter. You’ll get a tiny window of time for performing either light, heavy, or Irish Whip attacks. Now remember, pressing the Square/X or X/A with L-Stick directional inputs will add variety to your raid. And if you hold the Circle/B control button, your wrestler will perform a Hammer Throw move in WWE 2K24, which is very useful in the Royale Rumble matches.
Finishers and Signatures
- Hold R2/RT + Square/X: Signature
- Hold R2/RT + X/A: Finisher
- Hold R2/RT + X/A (While Having 3 Finishers): Super Finisher
The blue bar under your character’s name and HP indicates your wrestler’s power. If it’s filled to some point, you can press R1/RB while on the ground to do an early recovery. This will drain the bar, but it’ll give you a quick time to get back up. If you let the bar be completely filled, however, you’ll get a Signature to perform.
The Signature moves are performed by holding down the R2/RT button and pressing the Square/X control button in WWE 2K24. But every wrestler is unique with their Signatures and Finishers they execute. So first, you need to check out your wrestler’s special moves by pausing the game and selecting the Moves option.
For example, Triple H performs a Spine Buster that is executed in front of a standing opponent. But John Cena needs a grounded target to tell them You Can’t See Me. Once you perform your Signature, one of the yellow bars of your finisher slots will be automatically filled.
The same input rules go for the finishers as well. Now if you haven’t used your finishers and have 3 of them in your slots, you can perform a Super Finisher. Some wrestlers like Cody Rhodes have the option to do this move in WWE 2K24, dealing 3 times more damage to their opponent.
Carry and Environmental Attacks
- R1/RB (While in Grapple): Carry
- X/A (While Carrying): Slamming Attack
- Square/X (While Carrying): Environmental Attack
- R-Stick Up: Stand A Grounded Opponent
- R-Stick Left/Right: Turn The Grounded Opponent
- R-Stick Down: Pin
Since the Ambulance and Casket matches are the highlights of WWE 2K24, you’d need to learn how to carry your opponent to win in these games. To pick up the target wrestler, you can press the Circle/B button to enter a grapple and then press R1/RB control button to lift up the opponent in WWE 2K24.
While carrying the target wrestler, you can slam them with a simple X/A attack. Or, get them to a nearby wall, table, turnbuckle, or even ropes to perform environmental attacks using the Square/X input. This will help you throw the opponent inside an ambulance or bury them in a casket to win the match.
Dodging and Reversal Moves Guide in WWE 2K24
There are a few moves you can block in WWE 2K24. And that means you’d have to go for timed action reversals and breaks to stop the opponent from hitting you. Here are all three types of defensive gameplay controls in WWE 2K24:
- Dodge and Block: Press and hold the Triangle/Y button to block punches and kicks. You can use R1/RB + Directional L-Stick input to dodge the opponent.
- Move Breakers: If you manage to guess and press the exact button that your opponent has used to attack, you can break their moves. The buttons to guess are Circle/B, X/A, and Square/X.
- Timed Reversal: If the opponent is successfully performing a move on your wrestler, you still have a chance to reverse it. During the move, a quick timed action, a Triangle/Y prompt will appear to press and reverse.
Once you’ve learned all the moves and control inputs in WWE 2K24, it’s your time to shine and grind in the company. Start playing online matches to gain more experience, and write your own story in the My Rise game mode.
