Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S owners will soon have a new, prettier home screen. The company will start rolling out this new version to users in waves, with some seeing the update soon and others having to wait a few weeks. This redesign has been tested since May by community members and Insider members. That feedback has been taken to get as close to perfecting the UI and features as possible.
Across the generations of Xbox, the home screen has had plenty of different iterations, with some highs and lows for the community. This time, the company has aimed for a clean UI and user customization. This will be the most personalized and approachable UI the company has designed, from art to app access. When it rolls out to more people, we will see what adjustments might be made to fine-tune this “new Home experience.”

In its announcement, Xbox has detailed seven major features for its new home screen. This is what the designers have aimed to focus on with this latest update:
- Quick access menu to easily access your Library, search, settings, and more.
- The layout creates a more personalized background and puts recent apps and games toward the bottom of the screen.
- Option to change the background according to the game you are highlighting.
- Curated game lists make discovery easier.
- Pin games, groups, and system features, like Quick Resume.
- Friends & Community Updates section lets you see the latest from your friends and community members.
- Watch and listen spotlight to see available apps and content.
No details have been mentioned for the Xbox home screen availability for all users. The rollout is slowly coming around over several weeks, with no way to know when you will receive the update. Eventually though, with some patience, all Xbox owners will get this new home UI.
